Many of the so-called Alt-Right fancy themselves partakers of the “red pill” to achieve their equivalent of being “woke” (Alt-Woke, so as to speak). They eschew the wisdom of those who know better and embrace the ideological framework of their Progressive brethren. They are twins in all their folly.
Herein follows a fisking of ranting of an Alt-Right intellectual whelp, who has ideas, Dad… good ideas!!1!.
“Identity politics is now everything. You may not like it but that is the reality, and to ignore it is to position yourself as a powerless piece of flotsam that drifts to its doom unaccepting and unknowing. The reason that identity politics is the new reality is because the Left made it so and the conservative Right did nothing to halt the slide. The Right have been apologists who have done nothing but suck up to the Left while shooting in the back anyone on their side who clung to ‘old fashioned’ views that conservatives once held dear.”
Right off the bat, the author accepts—and as we shall see almost revels in—the destruction of the America that was. That we shall have a “year zero” is accepted almost without comment.
The author seems to think that “conservatism” is an proscriptive ideology or an organized movement. This is a fundamental misunderstanding of what conservatism, in the Anglo-spheric vein at any rate, is. Conservatism is descriptive and acknowledges the need to protect and conserve those things which made America so worthy of stewardship. Even then, there are a myriad number of different voices which, while they may agree on the overall fabric of America, will vehemently disagree as to particular threads thereof.
To say that “conservatives” did nothing to combat the Left, but rather stabbed Americ ain the back, is political ignorance of not only the conservative intellectual movement, but of actual grassroots activism that has spanned decades upon decades, abet not as long as the Leftist threat itself.
It is not a contest between implementing two opposing points of view (though the Alt-Right and the broader Left differ in not in the framework, but in the particulars). It is a question of fundamentally changing America, something that the Alt-Right and the broader Left agree upon, vs. not only resisting malignant change but allow remnants to rejuvenate that which has been destroyed. The Alt-Right, then, seek to fight a cancerous Left with AIDS.
“The Left have comprehensively transformed the social landscape into a myriad of special interest groups while simultaneously preaching the need for equality. The inherent incoherency of advocating for equality and diversity at the same time should have been an easy target for conservatives to attack. But instead they went along with the game in a futile attempt to ingratiate themselves with their ideological opponents.”
Yet more ignorance of how the Left wormed its parasitic way into America. As noted previously: “Yes, we were to wedded to our liberty and virtue, that we could readily afford to tolerate those who choose poorly, for the great bulk of society created the conditions that were so conduce to morality and freedom alike, that we could take pride in our tolerance, and rightly so. But we became so used to liberty and virtue existing, that we forgot how fragile this rare confluence of history allowed both to exist concomitantly.”
This virtue was used against us. It was used subtly and slowly in a Fabian fashion. Fundamentally transformative changes were not made manifest until they were fait accompli. To fight the Left, one must understand the Left, and their veil of ignorance allowed them their Gramscian march to the institutions with all the momentum that brought. Since conservatism is not a proscriptive ideology or organized gameplan, natural and organic resistance took time to form, and even then it is not cohesive, which is to its credit.
“Ironically it was multiculturalism that brought about identity politics. When a once homogenous nation becomes diluted by different tribes with varying degrees of integration then the old political ideological landscape becomes redundant. The end result is that people begin to identify along tribal lines. The Left realized this long before their opponents ever did. It might even be argued that it was a coherent strategy that coupled multiculturalism with identity politics.”
It is not that the Left “realized” this, but that that is what they were pushing to begin with, and for which the Alt-Right has happily embraced. That is their goal: To divide people into minitudes and setting everyone against everyone, based on morally impure kyriarchical traits, such as “Whiteness”. The only difference between the broader Left and the Alt-Right is not whether it is “White” vs. “not White” (or some other kyriarchical factor), but on which is the moral evil, and which is the presumed good.
“The Left were very smart in how they implemented this strategy. All non-white racial groups and tribes were promoted as being of worthy inclusion while whites were omitted under the pretext that whites as a group already held too many ‘privileges’. But certain subsections of whites were allowed in and this was just enough to keep the balance in the Left’s favor. Women and homosexuals were the two largest segments of this beatitude but smaller subsections were allowed where the Left traditionally held power. So environmentalists, animal rights groups, and even atheists were allowed entry based on their good work for the cause.”
Some have already noted it, and been able to avoid falling into the trap of ideological agreement.
“The Left have been so successful in tainting anything pro-white as being inherently racist that the majority of conservatives still have not woken up to what has been perpetrated. But one segment of the population have awakened and they are beginning to flex their ideological muscle.”
And the author is sooo (Alt-)Woke…
The only ideological muscle being flexed is the anti-American one.
“It is no surprise that straight white men overwhelmingly inhabit the ranks of the alt-right because it is exactly this segment of the population that have been successfully excluded from identity politics due to political correctness for so long. They are also the survivors, the ones who refused to go along with the prevailing narrative. It is important to understand that they were not cast out from polite society. To be excluded implies that the rejected person originally sought inclusion. The men of the alt-right are the ones who did not sell out their values and most importantly did not care what polite society thinks of them. You cannot be expelled from a club if you think that the club is worthless to begin with.”
When the Left have the momentum, institutions, and other Gramscian buttresses of power, one must acknowledge it in order to combat it. The more power they have, the more difficult it is to fight, and the more subtle the strategy it required. Despite the belief of the author that “conservatives” are merely servile minions seeking inclusion into “polite” society of the Left, it is the need to move carefully and choose fights wisely that “fighting” conservatives recognize as prudent.
Proof of the invalidity of the Alt-Right’s charges can be seen the success of the right to keep and bear arms movement (i.e. “gun rights”). The pro-2nd Amendment movement as seen today with the National Rifle Association and the Gunowners of America (amongst many other venerable organizations) started in the mid-70’s. For decades before that, gun control was very popular, even to the point of outlawing civilian ownership of handguns. The anti-gun Left were incrementally pushing towards that. But this was not only stopped, but reversed to a level not seen since the 19th century! How was this achieved? By choosing battles carefully, moving towards incremental change, and changing the fundamental fabric of popular opinion one thread at a time.
Slow and methodical incremental change was used to successfully fight Fabian machinations. Such methods not only preserved 2nd Amendment rights, but also renewed the conservative fabric which made such rights possible and secure.
The Alt-Right want to toss all that aside in a temper-tantrum of childish ignorance.

Maybe this McCann fellow says the Alt-Right embraces identity politics because they embrace identity politics, something which the author being fisked acknowledged as being part of the Alt-Woke new reality!
Again, the author asserts that “conservatives” have been as absolute failure. This is an ignorant and superficial view. Just because particular strategies and tactics against the Left have not dealt absolute victory thereagainst, does not mean they are the “suxxors” or willing minions. Slowing the Gramscian march may yield an advance of the Left, but it does prevent them from immanetizing the eschaton. It also lays the ground work for countering their social and political power in order to stop and even reverse them.
Again, case in point that conservatives have combated Leftist ideology and won can be seen in the Supreme Court decisions supporting an individuals right to keep and bear arms, and other assorted legislative victories across dozens of states.
The author is factually wrong.

The Left understand this and are mustering for the fight while the old guard of the Right still believe that they are at the forefront of events.”
What has been conserved is measured not necessarily in what has been regained, but in what has not been lost. It is the “old man” view associated with conservatism that has in fact protected us from the Left having their eschaton immanetized. Quebec used to be a religious and socially conservative place, but the Left took over and fundamentally transformed it into a soulless and Leftist place. This is actually endemic amongst most countries of Western Civilization. The Netherlands, in the early ’60’s, went from banning almost all pornography, to, in the ’70’s, legalizing all pornography, including child pornography. That there was some reversal indicates not a “victory” against the Left, but a societal “dead cat bounce”.

Silly conservatives, how dare they not be on “the Alt-right side of history”?
The idea that if we just throw down the gauntlet and stand up for the superior “identity” group, than the eschaton will be immanetized in the preferred way is childish and ignorant thinking at best. It is like some newly (Alt-)Woke new recruit on the battle lines scoffing at the veterans for not being able to lick the enemy.

Ah, but the Alt-Right are not trying to conserve what is being lost, but to help the Left destroy it in order to play identity politics, abet with themselves as the winning identity group.
But yes, it is a very dirty and long war. It is a war that we are at a disadvantage and where we must move prudently. The intellectual whelp would never understand this.
The Alt-Right vs. the Left is akin to Bolsheviks vs. Mensheviks. Both are wrong, and fundamentally so.

It is no place for the Alt-Woke and the ignorant whelps who think they know it all but don’t.
