The State is Mother; The State is Father

With young adults increasingly becoming overgrown children who expect awesome stuff and awesome life just be handed to them, and with the state becoming evermore the benefactor, protector, and provider, if not outright substitute parent, it is becoming ever more true that “the state is mother; the state is father.”

Aside from the fact that tyrannical cults of personality tend to have such parental figures in an almost deified status (Hitler, Stalin, Kim Il Sung, Mao Zedong, &c.), the reverence and obedience once shown to real parents has withered away with the breakdown of the family and has been taken up by Leviathan.

This sentiment is becoming ever more explicit.   Chris Rock, while at an anti-2nd Amendment function, declared “But also, you know, the president and the first lady are kind of like the mom and the dad of the country. And when your dad says something, you listen. When you don’t, it usually bites you in the ass later on. So I’m here to support the president.”

One can but hope that the cult of personality surrounding President Obama is but transitory, and that sanity will soon come back to America.

     One can but hope…
