Quick Takes – Brave New World: Abolishing Parenthood; Racial Equity Audits; Criminal Prosecution By Artificial Intelligence.

     Another “quick takes” on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.

     The focus this time: You are but clay to be moulded for the greater good.

     The only way to achieve a perfect blank slate for the state to imprint correct thinking and achieve Borg-like uniformity is to make sure there is no loving mother or father to tip the scales in child-rearing against a crack baby whose mother is an abuse skank whore.

“Today’s Californians often hold up equity — the goal of a just society completely free from bias — as our greatest value. Gov. Gavin Newsom makes decisions through ‘an equity lens.’ Institutions from dance ensembles to tech companies have publicly pledged themselves to equity.

“But their promises are no match for the power of parents.

“Fathers and mothers with greater wealth and education are more likely to transfer these advantages to their children, compounding privilege over generations. As a result, children of less advantaged parents face an uphill struggle, social mobility has stalled, and democracy has been corrupted. More Californians are abandoning the dream; a recent Public Policy Institute of California poll found declining belief in the notion that you can get ahead through hard work.

“My solution — making raising your own children illegal — is simple, and while we wait for the legislation to pass, we can act now: the rich and poor should trade kids, and homeowners might swap children with their homeless neighbors.”

     Oh, and can’t let those woke tech companies stray from the path of social justice…

“Democrats want to subject tech companies to mandatory “racial equity audits” conducted by their political allies, a move which could cement the party’s control of Silicon Valley.

“A small group of organizations with close ties to Democratic politicians and progressive donors conducts the majority of these audits, which advocates say are needed to promote racial justice. But in practice, equity auditors often push companies to hire more left-wing activists and former Democratic party officials, often from the auditing organizations themselves. The audits also call for the abolition of standards of “merit” and the ability for a special executive to veto any company project.

“Racial equity audits are the chief service offered by ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion’ consultants, a cottage industry connected by a revolving door of Democratic staffers and funded by liberal donors. Equity auditors have made a killing from school districts that pay handsomely for consultants to revamp curricula, the Washington Free Beacon has reported. Now, racial equity auditors are setting their sights on corporate America.”

     And what could be more fair than a computer deciding to prosecute you on its own discretion.

“Chinese scientists reportedly developed an artificial intelligence (AI) program capable of filing criminal charges.

“The AI ‘prosecutor’ is given a verbal definition of a case and then decides whether to file charges, according to the South China Morning Post, citing researchers involved in developing the program. The prosecutor files charges with a 97% accuracy rate, and is intended to reduce prosecutors’ workload.

“‘The system can replace prosecutors in the decision-making process to a certain extent,’ said Shi Yong, director of the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ big data and knowledge management laboratory that developed the program.”
