Quick Takes – The Madness Of Rebalancing Society: Worldwide Racial Equity Chief; Women Choosing Not To Work; Freedom For A Knife-Wielding Robber

Another “quick takes” on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.

The focus this time: America needs more knife-wielding female robbers for equity!

     First, a little mood music:

     Carrying on…

So many in the Federal government seem hellbent on pushing wokeness and “equity” on the world…

“The State Department will announce a Special Representative for Racial Equity and Justice on June 17 in connection with the department’s Equity Action Plan, an email obtained by the Daily Caller reveals.

“The position of Special Representative was first announced by the State Department in its April Equity Action Plan. The position’s holder has not been named, but the Special Representative will have wide-reaching powers, since he or she will be responsible for ‘institutionaliz[ing] an enterprise-wide approach to integrating racial and ethnic equity.’ The email names ‘advancing equity, addressing systemic racism, and strengthening democracy worldwide’ as ‘national security imperatives and core tenets of President Biden’s foreign policy.’

“Although the Special Representative will be responsible for ‘promoting systems of inclusion that mitigate bias, discrimination, and violence’ and ‘fostering more inclusive societies,’ previous U.S. government efforts to promote inclusion and equity have failed. The federal government spent nearly $800 million promoting gender equality in Afghanistan, a project that failed due to ‘traditional gender norms,’ according to the Special Inspector General for Afghan Reconstruction.”

Nothing says “Female Empowerment” like complaining about women who make life choices you don’t like to be “problematic”…

“A paper by sociologist Jessica Calarco found that different-sex, dual-earner couples grappled with the increased parenting duties of the pandemic in mostly unequal ways, even when that was a reversion from formerly more egalitarian relationships and even when those arrangements negatively affected mothers. These traditionally gendered arrangements were justified as a matter of ‘practicality’ if the mother could more easily work remotely but also by the concept that mothers are ‘more natural’ at caregiving in situations where it was less practical. In other words, ‘it just made sense’ for Mom to do more, and if it actually didn’t make sense, then, well, she’s just better at it.”

Big city elitists really do like helping out their violent serfs

“When newly minted Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg was sworn into office he immediately issued a memo to his department ordering a halt to most prison sentences and bail for all but the most violent felons. At that time, many of us were asking how long it would be before the toxic effects of these policies would begin delivering real-world horror stories. As it turns out, we didn’t have to wait very long at all. On Saturday, William Rolon, described by the NYPD as a “career criminal,” walked into a Duane Reade store on the Lower East Side of Manhattan and began filling up a trash bag with more than $2,000 worth of merchandise. He then threatened a female manager at the store with a knife before fleeing the scene. Later that same day he returned to the shop and stole more goods.”
