Another “quick takes” on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.
The focus this time: Lying liars who lie.
Ah, the “truth” of catastrophic climate doom prognosticated by the eminent scientists pursuing said “truth.” Their super-science and absolute understanding of a complex and chaotic climate stands on its own merits — and by “own merits” it is meant “manipulating information” to trick people into buying alarmist nonsense because such alarmist would “enhance global welfare”
From the abstract of the peer-reviewed article:
“It appears that news media and some pro-environmental organizations have the tendency to accentuate or even exaggerate the damage caused by climate change. This article provides a rationale for this tendency by using a modified International Environmental Agreement (IEA) model with asymmetric information. We find that the information manipulation has an instrumental value, as it ex post induces more countries to participate in an IEA, which will eventually enhance global welfare. From the ex ante perspective, however, the impact that manipulating information has on the level of participation in an IEA and on welfare is ambiguous.”
It seams that some people don’t really get this “science” thing…
Remember how there is apparently no voter fraud whatsoever, and that any attempt at prevention was thus just a means of denying minorities the right to vote?
North Carolina demonstrates otherwise:
“State elections officials in North Carolina are investigating hundreds of cases of potential voter fraud after identifying thousands of registered voters with personal information matching those of voters who voted in other states in 2012.
“Elections Director Kim Strach told state lawmakers at an oversight hearing Wednesday that her staff has identified 765 registered North Carolina voters who appear to have cast ballots in two states during the 2012 presidential election.
“Strach said the first names, last names, birthdates and last four digits of their Social Security numbers appear to match information for voters in another state.”
If they have 765 cases of double-voting being caught because those people were too stupid to lie, just imagine how many cases of voter fraud are never caught because others weren’t?
It looks like some Mexican immigrants are assimilating very well… into the Left-dominated media machine.
A Univision staffer had “received a press release from the RNC’s Communications/Research department. And rejected it out of hand ‘because I am a Democrat and do not need to read your viewpoints.'”
What could be more “American”?
Heh.
TTFN.
