Quick Takes – California Madness: Genderless Graduates; Preteen Polyamory; Liquidating Kulaks as a Class

     Another “quick takes” on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.

     The focus this time: California, the land of genderless preteen polyamerous Communists!

     When you gotta go super-genderless…

“College departments across the country are avoiding the term ‘alumni,’ opting instead to use ‘alumnx,’ even though the original term is gender neutral.

“A Google search of the term ‘alumnx’ returns a long list of results from American colleges using the term, though most are specific to departments and specialized resource centers. They include the University of California-San Diego, Syracuse University, University of Michigan and Loyola University of Maryland, primarily on LGBTQ+ resource pages.

“The term ‘alumni’ is a latin word that derives from the root word ‘alumnus,’ meaning ‘pupil,’ according to the online etymology dictionary. ‘Alumni’ is the gender-neutral plural form of the word. Some websites use ‘alumnx’ and ‘alumni’ interchangeably.”

     Monogomy is so doubleplusungood, that the schools have to teach kids that polyamory is spiffy!

“It was a California teacher who discovered the ‘LGBT Consensual Non-Monogamy Task Force.’ She was reviewing the state Department of Education’s ‘health; lesson mandates for the fall and stumbled across a term she didn’t know. She went to look it up, and was led to the American Psychological Association.

“California instructs teachers to talk to youngsters about sex ‘partners.’ They are to avoid terms like ‘boyfriend’ and ‘girlfriend’ because ‘some students may be non-monogamous.’ This is in the lesson plan for 12-year-olds.

“There it is. The American Psychological Association reaching its crusty paw all the way down to pre-pubertal kids.”

     Private ownership of homes and land is against Communist ideology, and it is being taught that said private ownership is bad.

“A University of California-Los Angeles professor made her views on climate change public in a recent op-ed, questioning American private homeownership in response to climate change, particularly California’s forest fires.

“Professor Kian Goah, assistant professor of urban planning at UCLA, whose expertise includes urban ecological design, spatial politics, and social mobilization in the issues of climate change and global urbanization, argued in an op-ed for The Nation that what makes the California forest fires even worse is urban planning. Its subtitle reads, ‘if we want to keep cities safe in the face of climate change, we need to seriously question the ideal of private homeownership.’

“’Yes, climate change intensifies the fires—but the ways in which we plan and develop our cities makes them even more destructive. The growth of urban regions in the second half of the 20th century has been dominated by economic development, aspirations of homeownership, and belief in the importance of private property,’ she writes.”
