The Progressive left have a collectivist view of society where that “everything within the state; nothing outside the state; nothing against the state.” Nowhere is that more clear than their view towards people’s children. The state becomes the substitute parent and becomes the one that raises children and instills its social norms and its beliefs, to the point where the state becomes mother & father (or non-gender specific parental caregiver). It conditions people towards dependency on the state, to the point where grown men and women are simply grown children, and the state is there for the elite few to take care of the dependent masses.
More often, those who espouse this view have grown more bold. Melissa Harris-Perry, a pseudo-scientist and talking head at MSNBC, has boldly proclaimed that all our children belong to the collective, that is, Leviathan:
Succinctly, she states:
“We haven’t had a very collective notion of these are our children… we have to break through our kinda the private idea that kids belong to their parents or that kids belong to their family and recognize that kids belong to their communities.”
Oh, the perpetual irony: Those who claim that the “democracy” as the basis for legitimacy of the government, are the same ones who dismiss that masses that make up that “democracy” as grown children incapable of deciding anything for themselves.
As the veritable Ace of at the Ace of Spades HQ says: “If ‘we’re all responsible,’ then actually no one is responsible, and stuff doesn’t get taken care of.” Therein lies the danger, and ultimate failure, of collectivization of parenting.
Melissa Harris-Perry has since double-downed on her statement, making it clear that it was no fluke or mangling of the English language. She has gone on to declare that people calling her out means that she’s done something right.
The trolls have been really busy the past two weeks calling me disgusting, evil & communist. #MustBeDoingSomethingRight

The only “right” thing she did was come out of the closet as a collectivist. Sadly, that people like her feel that it is OK for them to loudly announce that they are collectivist scum, should be a wake-up call to those who didn’t think that that couldn’t happen here…
