Quick Takes – Miseducation Of Children: High School Lap Dance; Passing Failing Migrants; Ideological Boot Camps

Another “quick takes” on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.

The focus this time: The future belongs to woke migrant strippers.

     First, a little mood music:

     Carrying on…

Nothing says “education” like twerking and a lap dance!

“[A] video saw the school’s mascot Thor take off the principal’s hat and throw it away – before twerking in front of him as students cheered.

“Nunes leaned back in the office chair, exposing his bare stomach with his half-buttoned shirt.

“The principal appeared to enjoy the dance before suggestively setting off a gold confetti cannon from the side of his hip.

“Nunes then switched places with the mascot, pretending to push him down into the chair before crouching down to dance.

“As students cheered, Nunes grabbed a microphone and shouted, ‘What happens in Buhach stays in Buhach,’ which received wild cheers from the crowd of students, some of which had gathered around the principal and the mascot.”

If you’re a migrant, you don’t have to bother learning to taking tests in order to pass school!

“Since 2022, nearly 50,000 migrants have been bused to Chicago from the Texas border. While not all of these new arrivals have opted to stay in Chicago, many who have chosen to make the city their new home have been resettled in predominantly Black neighborhoods on the South and West Sides. Now, WGN News can exclusively report that several Chicago Public Schools (CPS) teachers who work in these communities say they were told by school administrators to give migrant students passing grades last school year.

“The teachers we spoke with work in CPS elementary schools and say they spoke no Spanish, while their migrant students spoke no English, making communication virtually impossible. They also added that because their schools were located in predominantly Black neighborhoods, they offered no English as a Second Language (ESL) support. Despite this, they say they were instructed by school administrators to give their migrant students a 70 percent in every subject and pass them on to the next grade.

“Teachers say this was the case even if their migrant students displayed severe academic deficiencies.”

It’s hard to have oversight over what’s taught in schools if no one tells you.

“A pair of teachers at New Jersey’s Fort Lee High School recently taught students that Hamas is a peaceful ‘resistance movement’ and Israel is committing genocide. Teachers at California’s Berkeley Unified School District are ‘indoctrinating students with antisemitic tropes and biased, one-sided anti-Israel propaganda disguised as education,’ according to a complaint by the Anti-Defamation League. Meanwhile, students recently chanted “from the river to the sea” at college campus ‘tentifadas’—but when pressed could identify neither.

“Why does this keep happening? And how can public schools at once be hotbeds of radicalism and ‘woke’ indoctrination, yet produce students who are so poorly informed about the radical causes they ostensibly espouse?

“The answer has a lot to do with one of American education’s dirty little secrets: on any given school day in nearly every public school in the country, curriculum materials are put in front of children that have no official oversight or approval. It’s true that schools might have a state- or district-adopted curriculum, but that doesn’t mean it’s getting taught. Nearly no category of public employee has the degree of autonomy of the average public school teacher—even the least experienced ones. Teachers routinely create or cobble together their own lesson plans on the widely accepted theory that they know better than textbook publishers what books kids will enjoy reading and which topics might spark lively class discussions.”
