Though the Commission has said that this letter was not formally authorized by them, the European Commission has been waging war against American social media companies, purportedly over privacy reasons but more likely primarily out of jealously. So even if Breton’s letter isn’t “official”, it does represent the sentiments of the Eurocratic overlords of the E.U.
