Is There A Catgirl Gap?

     Chinese scientists have openly declared that they are genetically engineering embryos to create superior offspring.

“When Chinese researchers first edited the genes of a human embryo in a lab dish in 2015, it sparked global outcry and pleas from scientists not to make a baby using the technology, at least for the present.

“It was the invention of a powerful gene-editing tool, CRISPR, which is cheap and easy to deploy, that made the birth of humans genetically modified in an in vitro fertilization (IVF) center a theoretical possibility.

“Now, it appears it may already be happening.

“According to Chinese medical documents posted online this month (here and here), a team at the Southern University of Science and Technology, in Shenzhen, has been recruiting couples in an effort to create the first gene-edited babies. They planned to eliminate a gene called CCR5 in hopes of rendering the offspring resistant to HIV, smallpox, and cholera.”

     Of course, this suggests but only one thing: The Chinese are ahead in the race to genetically engineer catgirls for domestic ownership!

     As shocking as it may be that the Japanese have fallen behind China in this race!

     However, there is a kink in this story:

“Chinese authorities on Thursday ordered suspending research activities of persons involved in the gene-edited babies incident, denouncing the matter as “extremely abominable in nature” and in violation of Chinese laws and science ethics.

“The gene-edited twins matter reported by the media has brazenly violated Chinese laws and regulations and breached the science ethics bottom line, which is both shocking and unacceptable, Xu Nanping, vice minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, told Xinhua.”

     However, this isn’t that much of a kink…

“The plan has always been to permit genetic engineering. They just wanted to go through the usual Kabuki-theater process of supposed hand-wringing about ethics to make us, the great unwashed, believe all was under control.”

     Further, it appears that the scientist in question has either “disappeared” or been placed under house arrest. Of course, this does not disprove that he’s actually been secreted away to the Chinese’s secret genetic engineering catgirl laboratory…

     In other words, the Chinese Communists are trying to hide their successes in order to lull others into falling behind and surrendering to their future Chinese 猫耳 Communist overlords…
