Another “quick takes” on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.
The focus this time: Your child is their soldier for wokeness.
First, a little mood music:
What does the ACLU want to help the government hide from parents?
“In recent decades, the ACLU has supported transparency laws in schools when it came to sex education instruction, religious teachings in public schools, and segregating activities by sex.
“So why are they opposing laws that would require transparency when it comes to the teaching of critical race theory?
Curriculum transparency bills are just thinly veiled attempts at chilling teachers and students from learning and talking about race and gender in schools. https://t.co/EqKN4EGX3m

“We have constantly been told that CRT is not being taught in schools and that this is all a political battle having nothing to do with education. Indeed, the precise concepts of critical race theory are not being taught. What is being taught are lessons based on the concepts of critical race theory. Every time a school administrator or their supporters on the left make that argument, you can almost see the sneer of contempt on their face. They know full well that those lessons are based on arguments advanced by critical race theorists.
“It’s impossible to prove that’s their intent unless the underlying rationale for teaching a specific lesson is exposed. And that’s where the transparency laws come into play. Parents have a right to know if there is an effort being made at stealth instruction of an insidious academic form that most younger children couldn’t understand.
“As the ACLU led the fight for transparency in sex education, they will now lead the fight in the effort to cover up the true nature of CRT instruction.”
The Marxist derived tenets of the “Black Lives Matter” movement are being taught… to Kindergarteners.
“A Denver public elementary school system is planning on teaching gender and race sensitivity lessons using Black Lives Matter’s “13 Guiding Principles” as a model.
“Included in the ‘13 Guiding Principles’ of Black Lives Matter is ‘the disruption of Western nuclear family dynamics and a return to the “collective village” that takes care of each other,’ as well as lessons in ‘transgender affirming’ and ‘queer affirming’ for the five and six-year-olds.
“The school says ‘All discussions were grounded in children’s literature, using text such as Jed’s Barbershop, Julian is a Mermaid, The Other Side, The Colors of Us and The Skin You Live In, to name a few.’
Apparently it only takes twenty one days to properly indoctrinate children into wokeness.
“The parents of Farmington Hills, Michigan (a suburb 25 miles outside of downtown Detroit), were none too pleased to discover recently that their school board was forcing students to take a ‘21-Day Equity Challenge’ as part of the district’s ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion’ curriculum.
“Parents brought their concerns to a public school board meeting last week, but the school board members were not responsive to their objections.
“‘At some point, we have to say enough is enough and stop the indoctrination and actually let kids learn the things they are meant to learn,’ one unidentified protester said at the meeting.
“The school board has since removed the 21-Day Equity Challenge curriculum from its website, but school board members said they would continue using the program.
“The 21-Day Challenge was designed by a nonprofit organization called the Privilege Institute, which is dedicated to ‘disrupting the systemic structure of white supremacy, white privilege and other forms of oppression.’”
