Twenty-one years ago today, America was attacked. Instead of focusing in on America leaving Afghanistan, let us focus in on why we went there to begin with. Never forget the victims who died, and those who fought back.
In Pace, Requiescat.

In the hopes of encouraging a more civil, and illuminating, discourse, here is another episode of William F. Buckley, Jr.’s “Firing Line”.
Older generations have always complained about “The Young” and fret over what has become of younger generations. What better man to address this than the author of A Clockwork Orange, Anthony Burgess, who discussed this question with William F. Buckley, Jr. and other guests Diana Armenakis, Richard, Tilton, and Ahmed Bulbulia.
Until next Friday.

Another “quick takes” on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.
The focus this time: You shall be required to choose wokeness.
First, a little mood music:
Carrying on…

Can’t rely on students to tear down society unless they are forced to declare the Constitution to be evil… or else.
“A Vanderbilt University assignment asked students whether the U.S. Constitution was ‘designed to perpetuate white supremacy,’ and the ‘correct’ answer to that question was ‘true.’
“According to screenshots obtained by Young America’s Foundation, students were asked, ‘Was the Constitution designed to perpetuate white supremacy and protect the institution of slavery?’ According to YAF, one student in the class lost points after answering ‘false.’
“The screenshot of the online assignment shows that the correct answer was ‘true.’
“A Vanderbilt student who is currently enrolled in the course and asked to remain anonymous told Campus Reform that the questions and answers came from a recorded lecture.
“‘All of the quiz’s answers would come directly from a recorded lecture…the questions were exact quotes from the lecture,’ the student said.”

Purportedly, “marriage equality” would make both opposite sex and same sex union equal by raising same sex marriage to the lofty centrality of opposite sex marriage. But without the myriad unique elements that traditional marriage brought by the combination of the two sexes, with all their physical and actual physiological differences, “equality” could only be achieved by making the opposite happen, with this once central society denigrated to all irrelevancy beyond virtue signaling.
“One of the arguments made by proponents of same-sex marriage was that making the institutions of marriage inclusive of same-sex couples would ‘strengthen’ marriage in the culture generally. It’s not hard to find voices like Jonathan Rauch saying that same-sex marriage was a ‘socially conservative’ movement about protecting children.
“Andrew Sullivan often reminds us that when he started arguing for legal recognition of gay marriage, he was opposed by the majority of the gay community who wanted no part of a patriarchal institution. Even as late as 2000, the argument that homosexuals should be in the radical vanguard of disrupting and dismantling marriage could be published in the Nation.
“Proponents of same-sex marriage like Sullivan and Rauch won in the courts, and in a thin slice of the elite. But it looks more like the anti-marriage radicals won the future in the culture.
“Marriage is in steady and steep decline, as the rise in unmarried and never-married adults and in the share of out-of-wedlock births continues.
“…
“America is retreating from marriage. Of course the radicals imagined that what would replace marriage would be better. But by and large, Americans are replacing it with nothing. Resigning the married life and having fewer children means more people will live without dense networks of kin. They will live atomized lives marked by more and longer periods of intense loneliness and despair.”
This was inevitable. Oh, marriage as an institution was under attack—same sex marriage was but the final nail in the coffin.
There used to be a compelling reason for marriage, especially with legal enforcement. What two (or more) people feel towards each other and decide to do together because of that, however, isn’t a compelling reason for marriage to even exist. It doesn’t serve the same societal function. If anything, it minimized to nothing the actual social value and purpose of marriage. At this point, “marriage” is just a civil partnership wearing the corpse marriage like a skinsuit while demanding respect.
“But that doesn’t affect your marriage or anyone else”, the cry is espoused! But when the breakdown of marriage as an institution becomes widespread, it does have bearing on others, and not just others’ marriages. I doesn’t affect you… but it does.
You can’t indoctrinate adults like you can with children, especially when you keep the indoctrination from the parents. And what are children being indoctrinated into? Learning that heterogeneity is bad and that transitioning a child to become a “polygender” “genderf*ck” or a “”two-spirit” “aromantic” “drag queen” who is into BDSM. And who could possibly do this to a child? The public schools in Sacramento, California. And why aren’t parents opposed to this? Because the public schools are keeping this “egg-cracking” transgenderization secret.
SCOOP: Sacramento City Unified has laundered radical gender theory into K-12, promoting the idea that heterosexuality is oppressive, encouraging teachers to “normalize” child sexual transitions, and glamorizing identities such as “polyamorous,” “genderf*ck,” and “kink/BDSM.” 🧵

Sacramento Unified has been working on this for a decade. In 2012, the district invited academic queer theorist Elizabeth Meyer to conduct a leadership presentation on how to launder “queer pedagogy” into the K-12 system and create “sexual diversity.” pic.twitter.com/3IYku3cHTR

It’s the standard academic slop: Western society has created a “Heterosexual Matrix,” composed of “Hegemonic Masculinity,” “Emphasized Femininity,” “Heteronormativity,” and “Heterosexism,” that underpins an oppressive system of “patriarchy,” “homophobia,” and “transphobia.” pic.twitter.com/HhyznyITvy

In the hopes of encouraging a more civil, and illuminating, discourse, here is another episode of William F. Buckley, Jr.’s “Firing Line”.
Never Trump. Always Trump. Somewhere in between? A similar argument arose around Nixon before Watergate ever happened. William F. Buckly, Jr. discusses this historically surprising question with guests Allard K. Lowenstein and Rep. Paul N. McCloskey (R) who asked if the nation ought to decided to dump Nixon?
“Existential Comics” is an unfunny hard Left “comic”. In a recent “comic” the artist was trying to… say that a gay man was transphobic for not wanting a boy in a girls bathroom or playing on women’s sports because Harry Potter—unlike a real boy—turned himself into a literal girl meaning that Dumbledore is just a hater.

Of course, what this does do is demonstrate just how much transgenderism is just magic cosplay taken seriously to the point of being an honest belief in imitative magic.
With all the advancements of science, perhaps the ability to generate complex life from a handful of cells has so many unexplored vistas of possibilities, including the genetic engineering of catgirls suitable for domestic adoption. A research team at the University of Cambridge has now created “synthetic” embryos complete with beating heart and functioning brain:
“Scientists from the University of Cambridge have created model embryos from mouse stem cells that form a brain, a beating heart, and the foundations of all the other organs of the body. It represents a new avenue for recreating the first stages of life.
“The team of researchers, led by Professor Magdalena Zernicka-Goetz, developed the embryo model without eggs or sperm. Instead, they used stem cells – the body’s master cells, which can develop into almost any cell type in the body.
“By guiding the three types of stem cells found in early mammalian development to the point where they start interacting, the researchers mimicked natural processes in the lab. The scientists were able to get the stem cells to ‘talk’ to each other by inducing the expression of a particular set of genes and establishing a unique environment for their interactions.”
And what comes after the mouse but the cat? With lab grown embryos and the development of artificial wombs, it will only be a matter of time before the world will be filled with catgirls!

Most importantly, the development of a synthetic organic brain for hyper-intelligent catgirls is now possible:
“A major advance in the study is the ability to generate the entire brain, in particular the anterior part, which has been a major goal in the development of synthetic embryos. This works in Zernicka-Goetz’s system because this part of the brain requires signals from one of the extraembryonic tissues to be able to develop. The team thought that this might be taking place from their 2018 and 2021 studies, which used the same component cells to develop into embryos at a slightly earlier stage. Now, by pushing development just one day further, they can definitively say that their model is the very first to signal development of the anterior, and in fact the whole, brain.”
