Quick Takes – The White Privilege Myth: In Academia; In The Military; In Incessantly Idiotic Pop Music

     Another “quick takes” on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.

     The focus this time: The Miasma of Whiteness is everywhere!!1!

     First, a little mood music:

     What better way of pushing the meme that “Whiteness” is a “system” that oppresses people like some invisible miasma than at a White Privilege Conference for teachers!  Of course, it a bit #problematic!

     Why? Due to there being too many White people at the White Privilege conference!

“Disaffected participants in the 2016 White Privilege Conference (WPC) have taken to Twitter to complain that the conference was, ironically, too white and was actually filled to the brim with white supremacy.

“Adopting the hashtag #WPCSoWhite, inspired by the recent #OscarsSoWhite campaign, Twitter users claimed the conference that was supposed to battle white privilege instead served to entrench it.”

     The Left will always find offense.  Everything is always racist.  “Privilege” will always be the ready excuse to whine.

     But this is just a problem with academia, right?

     Wrong.

     It is now one of the core challenges for out military!

“[S]oldiers in the 67^th Signal Battalion at Fort Gordon, Georgia, were subjected to a ‘white privilege’ briefing, including a PowerPoint presentation instructing the attendees: ‘Our society attaches privilege to being white and male and heterosexual …’

“The slideshow also informed the soldiers: ‘Race privilege gives whites little reason to pay a lot of attention to African Americans.’ It alleged that there are unspecified ‘powerful forces everywhere’ keeping different kinds of people from being valued, accepted, and appreciated, but ‘we act as if it doesn’t exist.’ This alleged privilege creates a ‘yawning divide’ in income, wealth, and dignity.  The material described a mythical African woman who isn’t aware that she’s black until she comes to America, encounters ‘white racism’ and discovers the U.S. is ‘organized according to race.'”

     And just where else does it show up?

     Pop music is all about idiots virtue-signaling.

“Is it possible for a rapper to second-guess himself out of existence?

“Macklemore has a new single, ‘White Privilege II,’ a contemporary sequel of sorts to his song ‘White Privilege.’ And if you ever thought that what hip-hop needed most in 2016 was nine minutes of a self-flagellating Jezebel commenter vortex from the guy who beat Kendrick for a rap Grammy, oh how Macklemore has delivered.”

     Funny how the only White people who think they have “White Privilege” are spoiled no-talent hacks?
