Demonstrations in Oakland and Berkeley against police took a violent turn again Sunday night. Thousands of protestors from at least two separate gatherings converged and blocked state highway 24, where some activists jumped on police cars, threw projectiles at officers, and physically attacked police vehicles, setting one on fire. Locals tried to stop looters; at least one person was injured defending a store, according to one eyewitness.
