Just because something can be justified according to theoretical libertarianism does not mean most people aren’t going to recoil at what is being suggested…
Perhaps the mentioning of the Federal Reserve, “Agenda 21,” and Birtherism. should also be on that no-no list…
Hat Tip: Classical Values via Spatial Orientation.
Well… The federal reserve is pretty important. Not to liberty in itself, but in our current state of the US.
Agenda 21 is a pretty big one as well as it encroaches on everything most liberty fighters stand for. (Even down to stupid zoning rules etc.)
The problem is that those who almost monomaniacally talk about “The Fed” or “Agenda 21” come off as tin-foil hat wearers, as unfairly as it may seem.
With the Fed, most people don’t know or care about it. If you want to educate them, then I wish you all the luck. But it would be best to start off on topics and issues that they can more readily connect with, and then talk about more hardcore economics and the effects of the Federal Reserve System. But those who talk about it like it is a conspiracy or the root of all evil will be pretty much ignored, and anything else they talk about will be pegged with the same “conspiracy” label.
With Agenda 21, just mentioning it and its connection to the U.N. makes a person sound like a black-helicopter type, even though there is an Agenda 21 platform from a U.N. agency.
If you oppose what people are trying to push under the guise of “sustainable development” then don’t talk about the U.N. or “Agenda 21,” but talk bout specific examples, particularly on the local level, and why they are in and of themselves bad things.
It’s not a question of altering what you believe, but it is a question of marketing…
