School Transparency In Arizona

     You can’t fight the wokeness that has infected K-12 education unless you know what it is the schools are teaching. Arizona is taking a step forward to shining the light on all the woke cockroaches, with SB 1221:

“Each school that is operated by a school district, charter school, accommodation school and Arizona state schools for the deaf and the blind campus shall make all learning materials and activities that have been used or that have been planned for use at the school or campus available on written request for review by parents, including review by parents who are considering enrolling their children in the school, at the school site.”

     The bill, as amended has already passed the Arizona state Senate.

Mississippi vs. Critical Race Theory

     Yet another state has prohibited the teaching of racism and banned any mandates to require students accept racial inequality: Mississippi. SB 2113 says, in part:

SECTION 1. The following shall be codified as Section 37-13-2, Mississippi Code of 1972:

     37-13-2. (1)   No public institution of higher learning, community/junior college, school district or public school, including public charter schools, shall direct or otherwise compel students to personally affirm, adopt or adhere to any of the following tenets:

         (a) That any sex, race, ethnicity, religion or national origin is inherently superior or inferior; or

         (b) That individuals should be adversely treated on the basis of their sex, race, ethnicity, religion or national origin.

     (2) No public institution of higher learning, community/junior college, school district or public school, including public charter schools, shall make a distinction or classification of students based on account of race, provided that nothing in this subsection shall be construed to prohibit the required collection or reporting of demographic information by such schools or institutions.

     (3) No public institution of higher learning, community/junior college, school district or public school, including public charter schools, shall teach a course of instruction or unit of study that directs or otherwise compels students to personally affirm, adopt or adhere to any of the tenets identified in subsection (1)(a) and (b) of this section.

     (4) No funds shall be expended by the State Department of Education, any entity under the Department of Education’s jurisdiction or purview, a school district, public charter school, community/junior college, the Mississippi Community College Board, the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning or a public institution of higher learning for any purpose that would violate the provisions of this section.

     (5) The provisions of this section shall be severable, and if any provision of this section or the application of such provision to any person or circumstance is declared invalid for any reason, such declaration shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this section.

     This isn’t “racism”, it is how you fight racism.

Quick Takes – Seattle Madness: Handing Over Police Building To BLM Rioters; Magical Floating Indians; Segregated School Board Meetings

     Another “quick takes” on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.

     The focus this time: There is nothing more dangerous than a combination of insane and evil.

     First, a little mood music:

     The “CHAZ/CHOD” autonomous zone that had been set up in Seattle was not in defiance of the elected officials of Seattle, but cam with their blessing. Even the Mayor of Seattle did her part to help out:

“Former Seattle mayor Jenny Durkan’s administration drafted legislation in June 2020 that would have transferred the police department’s East Precinct building to a Black Lives Matter organization, the Seattle Times reported on Sunday.

“The legislation was drafted by the Department of Finance and Administrative Services around the same time that protesters calling to defund the police converged on the East Precinct in the wake of riots over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.”

     And yes, it was at the request of the then Mayor’s office:

“FAS spokesperson Melissa Mixon said the mayor’s office requested the draft.

“‘The Durkan administration directed FAS—in its capacity as the city’s real estate and facility management agency—to outline the process to transfer the East Precinct to BLMSKC,” Mixon told the Times.’”

Criminalizing Child Mutilation In Idaho

     It is a sad thing that not allowing people to permanently physically and chemically mutilate a child in service of transgender ideology is considered controversial, or that special legislation to specifically outlaw that vile act.

     Yet here we are with Idaho legislators standing up to protect children. House Bill 675 reads, in part:

(2) Except as provided in subsection (6) of this section, whoever knowingly engages in any of the following practices upon a child that circumcise, excise, infibulate, or mutilate the reproductive organs and parts of a child, for the purpose of attempting to change or affirm the child’s perception of the child’s sex if that perception is inconsistent with the child’s biological sex, shall be guilty of a felony:

(a) Performing surgeries that sterilize or mutilate, including castration, vasectomy, hysterectomy, oophorectomy, metoidioplasty, orchiectomy, penectomy, phalloplasty, clitoroplasty, vaginoplasty, vulvoplasty, ovariectomy, or reconstruction of the fixed part of the urethra with or without metoidioplasty, phalloplasty, scrotoplasty, or the implantation of erection or testicular prostheses;

(b) Performing a mastectomy;

(c) Administering or supplying the following medications that induce profound morphologic changes in the genitals of a child or induce tran sient or permanent infertility:

(i) Puberty-blocking medication to stop or delay normal puberty;

(ii) Supraphysiological doses of testosterone to a female; or

(iii) Supraphysiological doses of estrogen to a male; or

(d) Removing any otherwise healthy or nondiseased body part or tissue.
