Axis of Oppression

Yet another example of the madness of academia and the credentialed ninnies who declare who is axiomatically and eeevil oppressor, and who is a morally-pure victim of oppression.  Yup, do to good parenting, a good education, and genetics that you had no power over, you are either have “Domination” over others or are oppressed by it.   Why, if you happen to be pretty, than you are evil and have unearned “attractive” privilege which oppresses the unattractive.  If you are a native English speaker, than you are oppressing non-native English speakers you linguistic oppressor you.  If you don’t have disabilities than you are oppressing the disabled by simply not being disabled as well.

Ironically enough, the ones at the top of the “Axis of Oppression” are the “Credentialed” who use “Educationalism” to oppress the “Nonliterate”… just like those Social Justice Warriors of Academia!

The Golden State to Californians: Kill Yourself

When a sane and rational individual thinks of a Suicide Help line, the sane and rational individual will likely think of a suicide prevention line.

The California Supreme Soviet Legislature is neither sane nor rational.

A California Bill (SB 1002), has the following provisio in the so-called “End of Life Option Act: telephone number“:

“The State Department of Public Health shall establish and line 24 maintain a toll-free telephone number for the purpose of receiving line 25 and responding to inquiries regarding the End of Life Option Act. line 26 The department shall post the telephone number on its Internet line 27 Web site. The telephone number shall operate during the regular line 28 business hours of the department and be available to the public.”

A society obsessed with death will get what its obsessed with.

A copy of the bill as introduced:

Quick Takes – Collapse of Civility; Collapse of the Middle Class; and the Collapse of Society

Another “quick takes” on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.

The focus this time: On and on, South of Heaven

     First, a little mood music:

     Carrying on…

The Left have dropped any pretense of civility.  But then why would they need to be civil when they are in control?

“You see characteristic leftist arrogance among global warmers, who show their respect for their opponents by refusing to listen to them and implying that they are crackpots. On campus, leftists have spit at conservatives, screamed obscenities at moderate liberals, yammered on about phony ‘rape crises’ while doing everything they could think of to promote universal debauchery, rigged local votes to silence opponents of the Kill Israel (aka ‘BDS’) movement.

“The list goes on, the arrogance is staggering, the asymmetry all too obvious. Conservatives, bursting with facts and ideas (and anger and dismay), are eager to have it out with liberals and maybe even convince a few. Liberals are eager to make assertions and strike moral poses, but not to respond to rational argument or speak to the facts.”

Why? Because to the Left, it is a matter of faith:

“Hence the gross asymmetry of modern politics. For most conservatives, politics is just politics. For most liberals, politics is their faith, in default of any other; it is the basis of their moral life.

“Traditional religion used to be the iron grate that kept worldly beliefs from falling into the flames and turning into red-hot religious convictions in their own right. Among most conservatives it still is.

“But for modern liberals it is only natural to be upset, defensive, dogmatic, and immovable when you are challenged on your political views. Few of us are prepared to defend our deepest spiritual beliefs. Most of us rarely think about them. Many of us have never had reason to believe them; we simply believe what our parents did. That is perfectly fair and suitable—except when rational, worldly politics is forced to confront politics-as-religion head-to-head.”

Socialism for Dummies by a Dummy

An idjit on Twitter tried you “educate” yours truely by pointing out a “Socialism for Dummies” video by a Marxist professor.  Yup, the video is as idiotic and wrong as you’d suspect an economics and history lecture by a Marxist would be.

He starts out by whining how communists and socialists are vilified and right-wingers are meany-weenies.  Then he starts with historical inaccuracies following the Marxist model.  He mentions that feudalism existed and then paints all of European society as a completely rigid feudal framework of the most stereotypical kind, completely ignoring the many trading cities and states (though certainly not pure free-trade libertarian ideals), and the fact that there were and developed many people who were neither lords nor serfs.

Then, he characterized the French Revolution as a Capitalism Revolution!  This ignores the fact that the French Revolutionaries were unequivocally Leftist.  Based on his ignorance, he goes further and belittles Adam Smith as being uneducated in economics and completely mis-characterized the “invisible hand” as selfish evil being good, when in fact Smith speaks of how selfish motivations, which is inherent in mankind, can be channeled into good ends through the free market.

Not wanting to limit his unhistorical tirade, he talks about how Hobbes created the ideal of socialism (the collective over the individual) in response to Adam Smith.  Go ahead and take the time now to look up when Leviathan was written and The Wealth of Nations was written… or the fact that Hobbes died before Smith was even born!  Of course, Leviathan was rather totalitarian.  Hobbes also said that the default of mankind was “nasty, brutish, and short”… not that Capitalism was.

Defender of What Faith?

Does anyone believe that England cares about an actual “Church” of “England”?

A judge in the United Kingdom is actually prohibiting a father from bringing his own child to church:

“A British father has been banned from taking his son to a church after the boy’s Muslim mother won a controversial court order preventing the boy from attending.

“The father – a non-practising Muslim who has forged close connections to his local Christian community and is divorced from the boy’s mother – has been warned that he could be denied access to the nine-year-old if he attempts to take him to church or to a leisure centre it runs.

“…

“The father, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said his ex-wife insisted their son, whom she is bringing up in the Muslim faith, could ‘become confused’ if he is subjected to other religions.

“‘My son is being indoctrinated and the only way I can show him other things is to take him to other places,’ said the father.

“‘If I don’t show him other types of life he will become just like a dumb sheep. I want him to see and learn about different cultures.

“‘This is nothing short of brain-washing him. Already he is telling me that I have a black heart, that I am a bad man, because I am not a practising Muslim. I am heartbroken that I have to keep him away from activities with local children.”

Is the mother prohibited from taking the child to a mosque?

Heck, are non-Muslim parents allowed to NOT have their children go to a mosque!

“Parents choosing to withdraw their children from a school trip to a mosque over fears they would witness ‘guns and violence’ have been told by governors that any absences will not be approved, amid concerns over damage to community relations.

“…

“The visit to the mosque will provide an insight for pupils into the nature of British Islam, help them understand how Islam is presented in the media and that groups like Isis are not a true reflection of the Islam followed by the vast majority of Muslims in Britain..”

The Future of Euthanasia: Harvesting Organs from Live Donors

Dutch and Belgian doctors are suggesting that perhaps the law regarding organ donors should be changed to allow the doctors to harvest the organs from still living patients as an act of euthanasia:

“The dead donor rule states that donation should not cause or hasten death. Since a patient undergoing euthanasia has chosen to die, it is worth arguing that the no-touch time (depending on the protocol) could be skipped, limiting the warm ischemia time and contributing to the quality of the transplanted organs. It is even possible to extend this argument to a ‘heart-beating organ donation euthanasia’ where a patient is sedated, after which his organs are being removed, causing death.  Both options are currently legally not allowed”

What makes this so dangerous is that in the Netherlands and Belgium, the mentally ill, children, and disabled can be killed, even if they are not capable of consenting.  Need an organ?  Whack a crazy person by ripping their still beating heart from their chest.  At least the Aztecs ripped organs from living humans out of fear of being smited.

This is nothing more than human sacrifice.

Quick Takes – Male Privilege: Undercut by school; undercut by violent stereotypes; undercut at school

Another “quick takes” on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.

The focus this time: Shut up you potential rapist!!1!

     First, a little mood music:

     Carrying on…

The standard trope amongst Leftists is that males are “privileged” and females “oppressed”.  This trope has no basis in reality:

“It’s become a fact of American life that girls are better than boys at school. They get better grades. They’re suspended less. For every generation since the boomers, women have been more likely than men to earn high school and college diplomas.

“In fact, girls are pretty much the only reason the high school graduation rate went up in past 40 years, according to calculations by Harvard economist Richard Murnane. The male high school graduation rate has been stuck at 81 percent since the 1970s, while the female graduation rose from 81 percent to 87 percent.

“Women have been so persistently superior it is perhaps time for a new stereotype about the sexes — girls as bookish mavens like Lisa Simpson; boys as goof-offs like Bart.

“There are many theories for this widening academic achievement gap, but first, here’s another observation that might shed some light: The differences between boys and girls are largest among the most disadvantaged children. Socioeconomic status does not entirely explain the gender gap. Even well-off boys struggle to compare to well-off girls. But a tough upbringing sets boys back much farther.”

Unsurprisingly, the gap seems to be due to boys being screwed over at a young age.

“Because of their tendency to act out, boys may be in particular need of parental guidance — but because poor families also tend to be single-parent families, mom or dad time is a scarce resource. A 2015 study from economists Marianne Bertrand and Jessica Pan showed that boys are particularly at risk when they grow up in single-mother households. When boys don’t get enough parental attention, they misbehave. Girls, in contrast, are less likely to misbehave regardless of how much time parents spend with them.”

The Self Admitted Irrationality of Social Justice

The website “Everyday Feminism” is well known as a black whole of insanity that sucks in all sentient thought and pukes out the Hawking Radiation (apologies to Hawking) of Social Justice.

However it is not everyday that they outright admit their irrationality, and revel in it.

Not so long ago, they published an article titles “3 Reasons It’s Irrational to Demand ‘Rationalism’ in Social Justice Activism“.  Honestly, this article does not deserve a thorough fisking.  Some drive-by (zOMfG!!1! CULTERAL APPROPRIATION!!1!) commentary, OTOH…

“The scenario is always the same: I say we should abolish prisons, police, and the American settler state — someone tells me I’m irrational.”

     You are irrational.

“I say we need decolonization of the land — someone tells me I’m not being realistic.”

Realistic?  That statement has no basis in reality…

“Whenever I hear this, I stop and think about the world we’d live in if previous European colonizers were berated with the same rhetoric about rationalism as we abolitionists are today.”

Abolition of what?  Reality?  Rationality? Sanity?

“Would it have been enough to stop them in their tracks?

“What if someone had told them that the creation of the American nation-state of settler-colonizers who displace and murder the Indigenous inhabitants — and the development of the white supremacist, anti-Black, capitalist, cisheteropatriarchy — was a project too hefty to accomplish?”
