The Age of Synthetic Catgirls is Nyaa-igh

Being an honest and open advocate of Mad Science, your humble author supports research to such and as the genetic engineering of catgirls for domestic ownership.

Now, researchers involved in the Human Genome Project are developing synthetic human DNA:

“[T]his group of scientists, while encouraging debate and public involvement, would be wary of attracting too much attention. Their project is an effort to synthesize DNA, including human DNA.”

Oh, there are side benefits of course…

“[Director of the Institute for Systems Genetics at NYU School of Medicine, Jef] Boeke is particularly excited about what he calls an “ultrasafe cell line.” Certain types of mammalian cells intended to produce certain types of large molecule drugs, called biologics.

“‘[Cell lines] have been cultured in dishes in labs for decades. But you can’t engineer the genomes — the tools for doing that are quite crude, relatively speaking,’ Boeke said. Sometimes these cells get infected with a virus, and it completely shuts down drug production. A synthetic cell that lacked unnecessary genetic material could, evidence suggests, be virus-resistant, consistently producing useful drugs to treat disease.

“The results of GP-write could also lead to stem cell therapy that doesn’t run the risk of infecting the patient with another disease, which appears to be what happened to one patient who received stem cell treatment in Mexico. Or they could create a line of microorganisms that could help humans generate some of their own amino acids — nutrients we usually get from food.”

Academic Thought-Criminal Runs Afoul of MiniTru

An academic, using the standard pseudo-logic of Feminist and other grievance studies departments, has been declared an unperson by the modern academic self-declared MiniTru:

“In late March, Hypatia, a feminist-philosophy journal, published an article titled ‘In Defense of Transracialism’ by Rebecca Tuvel, an assistant professor of philosophy at Rhodes College in Memphis, as part of its spring 2017 issue. The point of the article, as the title suggests, is to toy around with the question of what it would mean if some people really were — as Rachel Dolezal claimed — ‘transracial,’ meaning they identified as a race that didn’t line up with how society viewed them in light of their ancestry.

“Tuvel structures her argument more or less as follows: (1) We accept the following premises about trans people and the rights and dignity to which they are entitled; (2) we also accept the following premises about identities and identity change in general; (3) therefore, the common arguments against transracialism fail, and we should accept that there’s little apparent logically coherent reason to deny the possibility of genuine transracialism.”

The article was retracted, despite being peer reviewed.

This happened NOT because of any claim of academic dishonesty or fraud, but because it was doubleplusungood, as an “Open letter to Hypatianoted:

“Its continued availability causes further harm, as does an initial post by the journal admitting only that the article ‘sparks dialogue.’ Our concerns reach beyond mere scholarly disagreement; we can only conclude that there has been a failure in the review process, and one that painfully reflects a lack of engagement beyond white and cisgender privilege.”

Quick Takes – Psychic Murder; Psychic War; Psychic Miasma

Another “quick takes” on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.

The focus this time: Ill thoughts take form and the bane of Progressives doth arise!

     First, a little mood music:

     Carrying on…

Apparently harshing the vibe of a hippie is nothing to the now established “fact” that doubleplusungood thoughts can and will kill

“Yes, you heard that right. Being gay in an unwelcoming community takes 12 years off your life! This study was heralded broadly by the press with no critical analysis provided for the reader. Not one mainstream journalist stopped to consider, much less challenge, the sweeping grandeur of this claim. It was used as a blunt object to condemn anyone not keen on the mainstreaming of homosexuality.

“Quite blunt it was. Reducing another’s life by 12 years by failing to agree with his or her sexual desires is no small charge. But is it legit?”

In reality, No. In academic fantasy land, OTOH…

A Venerable Privilege

One of the central tenets of the broader Left is an axiomatic worldview of oppressors and the oppressed, the former gaining their lofty status through unearned privilege. In this Rawlsian view, because some children had a better upbringing than others, those who grew up in a good family had unearned privilege which must be countered in order to equalize society so that those without said unearned privilege will be on an equal status. From this, the Leftist secular catechisms oft wail, a utopia will spring forth based upon that Philosopher’s Stone of absolute equity.

While in a good society, and venerable civilization, there is a desire to help the less fortunate, especially children who are not responsible for their place in life, absolute equality serves to harm all children. In so equalizing upbringings, natural and normal differences in upbringing lose all consequence. An intact family with supportive parents who provide a solid moral base and every opportunity to learn and grow will naturally result in children who are more likely than not to be well adjusted, self-disciplined, and productive. A broken family, or single parent households, where children are ignored, abused, and surrounded in an environment of violence, sloth, and ennui, is far more likely than not to result in children who will never do well in life and will be far more likely to be a drain on society, if not outright be a criminal element therein.

This is not “injustice”, it is a reflection of reality. It is a matter of the consequences of good parenting vs. bad parenting.

Those good parenting traits are not unearned privileges, but rather the natural result of parents choosing wisely and putting in the time and effort to invest in their children. By equalizing the impact of the family upbringing, the rewards for the hard work and doing the right thing are eliminated, while passiveness and outright bad parenting are rewarded. This does nothing but encourage people to not put in the time and effort to imbue their children with the values that lead to success and happiness.

Society, then, is weakened and eaten away by the destruction of the very values that allow it to exist in the first place. The Left are happy to do this because they want to destroy all social mores and traditions that lead to happiness and prosperity just because not everyone is partaking of it equally.

In actually, it is inequality in this case which is good and desirable in that good parenting should result in better outcomes than bad parenting, and that such outcomes are manifest and valued in concert with the value given to the good parenting.

Is There ANY City in England not Infested with Rape Gangs?

Rotherham is best known as being the English city where child sex trafficking was allowed to go on lest anyone who would dare to intervene be called a “racist“. However, this is going on in many more cities. Now, two more cities can be added to the list: Huddersfield and Oxford.

In Huddersfield, “24 men and two women [were] charged with abusing over 120 underage girls”.

In Oxford, another gang was “accused of grooming and raping a number of 12-year-old English girls”.

Left Wing Cuck Squad and the Giant Spiders

No, this isn’t some hipster version of a David Bowie album… it is the openly declared madness of the Portland AntiFa/Black Bloc rioters.

In an ironic banner, the Black Bloc AntiFa rioters—most of whom are pasty White—openly asked:

“White People What Will We Do To Change Our Legacy Of Violence?”

Um, perhaps not rioting like spoilt little thugs?

Also, ordering around those giant black spiders like they were slaves would be an improvement as well.

Whether they were being “ironic” or simply proud of being a laughing stalk (or perhaps, even, of being well trolled), one flag openly declared that they were the “Left Wing Cuck Squad“, complete with a unicorn as the center device on the flag’s badge!

The use of the word “cuck” as a derogative is loathsome, but when they use if on themselves…

Venezuela’s Socialist Utopia: Chaos and a Coming Constitutional Coup

The alleged socialist utopia that is Venezuela is facing chaos and protests. This was foreseen. It is now coming to pass. Perhaps, at this point, ‘twould be a blessing to face a Soviet-style collapse. Fate is likely to not be so kind.

One would be forgiven for thinking that Maduro’s minions on the Venezuelan Supreme Court having backed down from dismissing of Venezuela’s elected legislature would have signaled a weakened in Maduro… or at least a willingness to compromise.

The tanks in the streets plowing through innocent protestors, however, belies that notion.

Maduro is now pushing a brand new coup by unilaterally trying to rewrite Venezuela’s constitution—a move that former allies such as Argentina and Brazil (who purged themselves of their own immediately prior totalitarian-minded Presidents) are denouncing.

Anime Waifus Now As Valid As Homosexuality

Remember how two male penguins raising a chick together was touted as absolute proof that homosexuality was not only normal in nature, but would result in superior parenting?

If penguins are now the arbiters of behavior normalcy, then falling in love with an anime character is a valid and venerable sexual orientation:

“Various Japanese zoos have been collaborating with Kemono Friends and hosting special events. It’s been working, as social media has been showing an increase in zoo visits. The Tobu Zoo was hoping to bring otaku and children alike to their exhibits, but they accidentally turned one of their penguins into an otaku…

“Each exhibit pairs a Kemono Friend character with their real life counterpart. Grape-kun, a 20-year old penguin, literally fell in love with Hululu, who is a Humboldt Penguin character.

“Japanese visitors noted that Grape-kun would spend every minute staring at, sitting next to, or praising Hululu as if she was a breathing mate. He was even neglecting the rest of his flock just to be with Hululu. The penguin was dedicated!”

If you don’t celebrate the love of a kemonomimi waifu, then you are a H8r.

Quick Takes – Choosing Gender; Forcing Gender; Fluidity of Gender

Another “quick takes” on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.

The focus this time: Gender is just like your opinion, man.

     First, a little mood music:

     Carrying on…

Do you want to have a boy baby, or a girl baby? In most of the world where abortion is an option, genetic testing can be done to facilitate this. However, apparently according to an idjit at “The Guardian”, all it takes is for an obsessed parent to shove a preferred “gender” down their child’s throat:

“There are mothers who want a daughter in order to have a close mother-daughter bond, or fathers who want a father-son bond. Their aim in ‘gender balancing’ is not to have a variety of sex chromosomes or genitalia among their children, but to have a child who will live up to their gender assumptions.

“Yet sex and gender are two very different things. And according to the state of the evidence so far, there is no biological reason why parents can’t have the sort of bond and experiences they want with a child of any sex.

“Despite more than 100 years of research, scientific studies have failed to provide good evidence to support the belief that babies are born with something like a ‘male brain’ or a ‘female brain’ which causes the gender traits parents have in mind.

“This means that sex selection (or gender selection, as it is often erroneously called) does not ‘do what it says on the tin’ so to speak. Parents want it to select gender but all it can do is select a child with certain sex chromosomes.”

     Of course, actual science disagrees:

“There are structural differences between male and female brains:

http://www.sciencemag.org/news/2017/04/study-finds-significant-differences-brains-men-and-women

“It is true that greater variability exists within male and female brains than between male and female brains, however there are still structural differences between the sexes. Mens’ brains on average are larger than female brains and are more variable than female brains. This is reflected in IQ tests, men and women are of approximately equal average intelligence but there is far greater range of intelligence amongst men.

“Most the studies on the differences between male and female brains have been on structural rather than functional differences. And there is plenty of behavioural science across cultures – and even species – to support the biological basis for sex/gender differences. There is evidence that testosterone at least impacts male behaviour in terms of aggression.

“Science can’t even explain how consciousness arises from brain function, and we can’t even account for what functional neurological differences there might be between males and females. It is massively premature to deny the possibility there might be differences between male and female brains. The science is by no means settled.”
