“The University of Rhode Island wants to hire a psychologist who will offer counseling and provide training “informed by multicultural, systemic, decolonial, and/or other orientations.”
“The Kingston public university wants someone with a background in ‘culturally resonant counseling,’ according to a job posting, which expired on May 6.
“Jennifer Mullan popularized the idea of decolonizing therapy. She says the therapy involves ‘bravely and earnestly confront[ing] the multi-generational impact of colonization on all of us.’
“Mullan says counselors should help patients ‘recenter a collective healing process for all indigenous peoples.’”
Woke melancholia? Williams College is going to teach about it!
“Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, is set to offer a course this fall on racial and queer ‘melancholia,’ which fulfills the school’s ‘Difference, Power, and Equity’ requirement.
“The requirement means Williams students cannot graduate without completing at least one course designated by the college as examining ‘difference, power, and equity.’ The fall offerings satisfy that mandatory component of their education through courses focused on subjects including racial capitalism, black feminism, race and gender, and racial and queer ‘melancholia.’

Just because they say there are no racial quotas doesn’t mean there are no racial quotas.
“The University of California, Irvine quietly deleted a racial quota from its engineering school’s website after a federal civil rights complaint exposed the policy.
“The Samueli School of Engineering had publicly stated it aimed to boost Black faculty, students, and staff to ‘match or exceed’ California’s 6% Black population, a goal the October complaint filed by the Equal Protection Project noted.
“The webpage with the published goal was taken down following the filing of the EPP’s complaint.
“An archived version of the deleted webpage shows the school’s race-based target.
“The complaint argues this amounts to a de facto quota system in violation of Title VI, Title VII, and the 14th Amendment.
“UC Irvine has not explained the quota or its removal, offering only a vague statement that it supports a welcoming campus and is ‘reviewing the complaint.’
