Quick Takes – Education Today: Ignorance; Wokeness; Spanish Language Pseudo-Bestiality

Another “quick takes” on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.

The focus this time: Out: The three “R”s. In: Chicken and cow getting jiggy with it.

     First, a little mood music:

     Carrying on…

Education is no longer about teaching facts and valuable knowledge… but rather it is all about “protecting” children from it!

“John Dewey sneeringly dismissed academic progress as ‘mere learning.’

“Two famous professors, in their 1929 textbook, unapologetically stated that most school material is a waste of time: ‘Subjects such as arithmetic, language, and history include content that is intrinsically of little value.’ That clearly reveals an ideology.

“But communities sometimes fight back, so the Education Establishment had to be ever creative, ever conniving.

“During the last 40 or 50 years, the attack on knowledge became more ingenious. In one example, teachers were told not to teach; students must create their own new knowledge. This remarkably successful gimmick, called Constructivism, crushed the amount of knowledge mentioned in the nation’s classrooms each day.”

So, what are the educational establishments using their time with kids to do?

Gentlemen Fight, Thugs Brawl, Amateurs Flail

Evan Sayet has many insightful views into Leftist thought, and their fundamental dishonesty.   However, like many, he seems a bit impatient vis a vis “fighting back” and incorrectly equates civilized and gentlemanly behavior with surrender as well as equating with fighting at best brawling and at worst flailing.

Sayet, in an article entitled “He Fights” argues:

“We Right-thinking people have tried dignity. There could not have been a man of more quiet dignity than George W. Bush as he suffered the outrageous lies and politically motivated hatreds that undermined his presidency. We tried statesmanship. Could there be another human being on this earth who so desperately prized ‘collegiality’ as John McCain? We tried propriety – has there been a nicer human being ever than Mitt Romney? And the results were always the same.

“This is because, while we were playing by the rules of dignity, collegiality and propriety, the Left has been, for the past 60 years, engaged in a knife fight where the only rules are those of Saul Alinsky and the Chicago mob.

“I don’t find anything ‘dignified,’ ‘collegial’ or ‘proper’ about Barack Obama’s lying about what went down on the streets of Ferguson in order to ramp up racial hatreds because racial hatreds serve the Democratic Party. I don’t see anything ‘dignified’ in lying about the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi and imprisoning an innocent filmmaker to cover your tracks. I don’t see anything ‘statesman-like’ in weaponizing the IRS to be used to destroy your political opponents and any dissent. Yes, Obama was ‘articulate’ and ‘polished’ but in no way was he in the least bit ‘dignified,’ ‘collegial’ or ‘proper.'”

Sayet seems to be engaging in manichean thinking, and unrealistically to boot. He seems to equate both an incompetency and lack of will with “dignity”, and in equal measure conflates victory celebrations with actual strategic fighting.

This has led Sayet, and far too many others, to act out the roll of Mark Twain’s proverbial cat:

Having equated gentlemanly behavior with losing or even deception, many will eschew any politician who doesn’t overtly want to brawl and declare a knife fight to be on, with all the accompanying sound and fury that comes therewith.

Robber Barons and Omnipotent Moral Busybodies

     C. S. Lewis once noted that it was better to be ruled by robber barons who were interested in their own benefit, than “omnipotent moral busybodies” who wish to impose their insane not-so-clever schemes on other people whether the people like it or not.w-a-d

Now-a-days, we are in the unfortunate position of those robber barons and omnipotent moral busybodies being one and the same. And now they have even more power than the 19th century titans of industry:

“Without doing the math, I would imagine Jeff Bezos’ personal worth ($83 billion) and the value of his massive company Amazon ($490 billion) – are at least as relatively huge as a Carnegie or a Mellon and their respective companies ever were.

“Ditto Google (now Alphabet) ($652 billion) and their founders Larry Page ($49 billion) and Sergey Brin ($43 billion). And Facebook ($501 billion) and Mark Zuckerberg ($64 billion). And…
“…

“All of this government – also allows today’s Robber Barons to execute the Big Con. Rather than abusing us directly, they use governments as their primary weapons. They can put on a ‘Don’t Be Evil’ smiley-face – while having the bureaucracies do their dirty work for them.

“Today’s Robber Barons bribe feckless government officials – who are wielding power far beyond the Constitution’s constraints and their meager abilities. Who then abuse their power, the system and all of us – by engaging in massive amounts of Robber-Baron-favoring government cronyism.”

The Logic of the Left

The logic of the intersectionally woke Left goes thusly:

  1. Whites, conservatives, men, “cis-het”, &c. hold “institutional privilege and power”.
  1. This “institutional privilege and power” is axiomatically deemed evil, as “Whiteness”, “heteronormativity”, &c. are defined as “systems” used to oppress everyone else via “institutional privilege and power” , with such “systems” being at the very fiber of Western Civilization.

2a. These interlocking systems of oppression is called “Kyriarchy”.

  1. As a corollary, opposing this is per se defined as “justice” and thus good.
  1. Bullying, violence, and oppression are bad, and as such can only definitionally done by the “Kyriarchy” and those who support it (e.g. only Whites can be racist, only men sexist, &c.), even if the actions or words are in and of themselves neutral or good, for anything done by the defintionally evil is as a corollary a definitional evil.
  1. Opposing the “Kyriarchy”, being defintionally “justice” can never be bullying, violence, and oppression since opposing “Kyriarchy” is defintionally good and those who do the definitionally good must always be doing good, even if the actions or words are in and of themselves bad.

Thus we can see that these social justice warriors and assorted violent thugs consider themselves on the side of justice because they are opposing others who have been axiomatically defined as evil.

In other words, the designated villain is evil because they have been axiomatically defined as evil, and the social justice warriors are good because they are in opposition to this evil.

While this may seem irrational and insane by the standards of a rational thinking human being, it makes perfect sense to those who have been so thoroughly indoctrinated by the Left that you are to them irrational and insane.

This has been building up for years and kids today have largely been indoctrinated.

This is the only way they know how to think.

Telling them they are crazy will just preclude an possibility of converting them back nor rational thinking. They are but buggy whips of reason.

The Wiltshire Police’s War on Doubleplusungood Utterances

Ignoring all the rape, murder, arson, and rape, the Wiltshire Police, over in jolly old England, have decided that there is no more important crime to combat than… hunting down internet trolls and others who utter illegal “H8 speech”.

After being rightly belittled, the thin-skinned minions of Ingsoc, decided to double down and threaten arrests for “discriminatory remarks”:

Quick Takes – Sexist Penitents; Sexist Athletes & Veterans; Sexist Robots

Another “quick takes” on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.

The focus this time: Long live the Robo-Patriarchy™!!1!

     First, a little mood music:

     Carrying on…

To the Left, being a male is a sin for which all men must seek repentance… literally.

“Adding to the proof that the left is basically a fundamentalist cult, the University of Regina has unironically set up a confessional booth so that men can confess to the sin of being … well … men. Masked as an initiative to combat sexual harassment, the university’s Man Up Against Violence program is a function of identity politics designed to emasculate men. The first step in that emasculation is requiring men to seek forgiveness for the sin of being a man.

“…

” The confessional booth at the University of Regina is just the next step in the evolution of the left into a full-fledged religious cult. Part of that next step involves the continued emasculation of men. Sadly, many men are voluntarily destroying their masculinity by lining up to drink the leftist Kool-Aid.”

The Othering of Cis-Normative Unpersons

Once upon a time, boys’ restrooms/lockerrooms/showers/&c. were for actual biological boys and girls’ restrooms/lockerrooms/showers/&c. were for actual biological girls because society recognized that such distinctions existed and boys and girls might want privacy from each other in a potentially vulnerable environment.

But those icky times are no longer here, as boys can use girls’ spaces and visa versa. No longer will these “trans-gendered kids” be “othered” or made “unpersons” because they set themselves up as being different. So, no more “othering” because that “othering” and making those “others” “unpersons” is bad, right?

     Wrong.

Girls who are afraid of being vulnerable and even naked in front of boys are now to be “othered” and treated, via school policy, as “unpersons”:

“Newly-approved guidelines in Minnesota direct K-12 public school officials to ‘segregate’ students uncomfortable with using transgender bathrooms and locker rooms, all in the name of inclusivity, of course.

“With the approval of a new gender toolkit from a Minnesota Department of Education advisory council on Wednesday, all publicly-funded schools (including charter schools) within the state now have detailed instructions addressing the inclusion and protection of ‘gender nonconforming’ and trans students.

“But not all students are being protected: school officials are also told to ‘segregate’ any student hesitant about the new trans rules, which would potentially include female students changing side-by-side with male students in a locker room.”

Venezuela’s Not-So-Cold Civil War Grows Hotter

Venezuela, the land of rationed toothpaste, is seeing an actual civil war with opposing side claiming legitimacy, and growing increasingly violent.

Venezuela’s Congress has declared Maduro’s hand-picked lackey’s on Venezuela’s Supreme Court to be illegitimate and appointed their own new Supreme Court. Maduro has in turn threatened to arrest the Congress’ appointments. Each side is claiming to be the only legitimate power, and both are claiming popular mandate, though the Congress was elected more recently than Maduro. Each side is also setting up their own referenda. The Congress’ support has shown massive support, while voters snub Maduro’s attempt to legitimize a constitutional super-body.

That support has manifested in outright attacks on Venezuelan National Guardsmen, who have been stripped naked and beaten in revenge for earlier street violence by the Guardsmen. And now, opposition leaders are disappearing.

Faith & Gender

Gender Identity, whether one believes one is a boy, a girl, or mayonnaise, is concomitantly considered both something that one defines themself by, with no objective basis but only one’s subjective opinion, but also an integral part of one’s being that defines who they know they are and that can not be changed (to the point of making such attempts illegal).

There is a word for a belief that so thoroughly defines a person, both to themselves and to others, that lacks an objective or scientific description: Faith.

Though there are differences, such as an inability to objectively even define the term “boy” vs. moral codes and holy tomes of religion, the similarities are manifest: Both involve knowing a transcendental and absolute truth; both define what a person believes they are and how they act and think; and both are now topics for which people will vehemently disagree.

Yet we see these two faiths in conflict, with the privileged few being able to use their power to force their subjective reality of “gender”. Transgenderism under the law is not about civil rights, it is a holy war.

If the political movement for transgenderism really is about the right to exist as one’s identified identity, and to live freely as such, then perhaps it should be accorded rights as a faith.

Thus, I offer, in all musing, this compromise: Any rights and liberties afforded to either religion or to transgenderism shall apply equally to both. One can express their transgender identity/faith to the same extent and protect afforded to a religious faith; one will be protected from discrimination as transgender to the same extent as afforded to a religious faith; one’s transgender beliefs and identity will be protected to the same extent as afforded to a religious faith; one will not be required to bake a cake in celebration of either one; both shall stand in regards to the state as the other as regards its establishment as official government policy and practice.
