Happy Thanksgiving for 2018!

This Thanksgiving, between expressing our thanks that we haven’t become a socialist country (yet), and enjoying some tasty turkey, let us eschew politics for at least one day while we enjoy the company of kith & kin.

Here are refugees from North Korea enjoying a Thanksgiving Dinner.

Leviathan’s Play Date

The government has increasingly put the “loco” in in loco parentis. Leviathan has increasingly assumed that all children are not under the aegis of their parents, but that parents are simply allowed to raise Leviathan’s children. Now, the city of Washington, DC has decided that parents who organize “play dates” for their children, with some basic common sense ground rules for behavior, must beg permission first from the government.

“Back in the 1970s, a group of parents got together to create an informal playgroup for toddlers in DC in a spare room of a local church. Over the last 40 years, groups of parents and their two-year-olds have enjoyed these three-hour playgroups, which children can attend up to three days a week. The playgroup is staffed by parents of the kids who attend, and they take turns watching the children. There is no paid staff.

“… ‘Some DC government officials now are trying to regulate the program, which they contend is an illegal child-care facility.’ The Office of the State Superintendent of Education investigated the playgroup cooperative in early September and issued a statement saying the group is violating child care facility laws and must get a license to operate.”

(Pseudo)-Nativist Anti-Trump Voice Actress Attacks Naturalized American Citizen

How SJWs Infest Companies and Destroy Industries

It seems that more and more industries are being overrun by “Social Justice Warriors” who end up destroying companies and dominating professions like lords of the flies, especially when it comes to popular media.

Case in point comes from insider information via someone who was blacklisted from American animation studios for not playing around with the laze and destructive idiocy that degenerated Western animation in America to nothing more than badly animated social justice morality plays.

Aggressive bullying while claiming to be the victim is a tried and true method that needs to be stopped before it begins.

The Grand Old Sundering

In the wake of the 2018 election results, there are two conflicting narratives concerning what the outcome of the results really mean. To wit: Either the GOP wasn’t “MAGA” enough and that the voters punished the “establishment” candidates, or that “MAGA” was toxic to the moderate Republicans and independents, who shunned the Trumpified GOP.

Indeed, the early responses to expanding in the Senate buoyed the idea that Trump and the Democrats frothing in the mouth over the Supreme Court helped the GOP bigly. However, those Senate gains turned out to be only two (and at least one) seat, which is a very poor result considering that the Republicans held almost no seats to begin with and nonetheless lost two seats that they had won in the Obama wave of 2012. Until 2020 elections are over, we are likely to see a “holding pattern” with every side doubling down.

Venezuela’s Slow Ride To Hell

The horror show that is socialism continues unabated in Venezuela. A sixty-fold increase in the minimum wage seems like a socialist workers paradise… aside from the fact that a 833,997% increase in consumer prices far exceeds even the 149,000% hyperinflation rate. That the one source of income, their gas company Citgo, might be seized from them certainly underscores the tenuous nature of civilization itself in Venezuela.

The result of this economic miracle? Starving children and a surge in suicides. Yet some still wonder why millions of people are fleeing this “socialist paradise”! At least Venezuela has one booming export: Infectious diseases like malaria, yellow fever, diphtheria, dengue, and tuberculosis.

And what does the government of Venezuela do to solve these crises? Silence dissent via assassination.

Japan To Allow Gene Editing in Human Embryos Could Lead To Catgirls

Genetic editing of embryos is illegal in many countries. However, the land of 猫耳, Japan, is now set to allow editing of genes in human embryos:

“Japan has issued draft guidelines that allow the use of gene-editing tools in human embryos. The proposal was released by an expert panel representing the country’s health and science ministries on 28 September.

“Although the country regulates the use of human embryos for research, there have been no specific guidelines on using tools such as CRISPR–Cas9 to make precise modifications in their DNA until now.

“Tetsuya Ishii, a bioethicist at Hokkaido University in Sapporo, says that before the draft guidelines were issued, Japan’s position on gene editing in human embryos was neutral. The proposal now encourages this kind of research, he says.”

While manipulation of human embryos for reproduction would be restricted under the guidelines, such restrictions would not be legally binding.
