In the hopes of encouraging a more civil, and illuminating, discourse, here is another episode of William F. Buckley, Jr.’s “Firing Line”.
Originally formed to investigate National Socialism infiltrating America, and then more famously used to investigate Communist infiltration, the House Unamerican Activities Committee (HUAC) became increasingly divisive in American politics and culture. As with any exercise of the government, some said it was going too far. Let us look back sixty years ago as William F. Buckley, Jr. and John Henry Faulk debate if HUAC should be abolished.
