The extent of surveillance of people’s everyday lives has become so ubiquitous, that Lavrentiy Beria’s quip about showing him the man and he’ll find you the crime is coming true. With A.I., and other analysis tools authorities can use, your crimes can be found, and you presumed guilty, even if you have proof of innocence! This is happening now.
“An officer arrives at a woman’s home, presents an image from a surveillance camera as ‘irrefutable evidence,’ & accuses her of a crime. When she offers video evidence that could establish her innocence, he isn’t interested.
“The burden is supposed to be on the government to prove guilt, not on citizens to prove they’re innocent.”
This is the danger of Flock cameras.
She was guilty until proven innocent… and she was only able to prove her innocence with her own video footage.

Leviathan is still limited by, ironically, insufficient manpower. But automation of fines is easy. All that needs to be done is A.I. to hallucinate and charge you with a fee. Combine this with nascent “social credit scores” and large institutions willing to suspend or restrict their services due to an “unpaid fine”, and your getting awefully close to Friend Computer from the game “Paranoia”.
