Another “quick takes” on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.
The focus this time: Standing athwart the transgender movement and yelling “Stop!”
First, a little mood music:
Carrying on…
Just how extreme of a transgender totalitarian do you have to be for Canada to think you’ve gone too far? “Jessia Yaniv” too far.
“On Tuesday, Jessica Yaniv, a biological male who identifies as a woman, lost his legal battle to force women to give him a Brazilian wax. After multiple female estheticians refused to wax his genitals because of his male anatomy, he filed human rights complaints, claiming that they engaged in discrimination against him due to his transgender identity.
“’Human rights legislation does not require a service provider to wax a type of genitals they are not trained for and have not consented to wax,’ the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal ruled.”
Sometimes, public schools do recognize that girls’ restrooms are for biological females.
“Jasper, Georgia, isn’t a big town. At last count, it had about 3,800 residents. So it was a big deal when 900 squeezed into the Pickens High School auditorium determined to stop Jasper from becoming the next stop in the march for transgender bathrooms.
“For the small community, the time for polite conversation was over.
“The residents packed into the special school board meeting were angry. They’d already made accommodations for the two students who identified as another gender, setting up single-person restrooms for anyone who wanted them. The trouble is, these kids weren’t satisfied with that compromise.”
“…
“In Jasper, the parents were fortunate. They won.”
In some countries, including those with socialized medicine, prohibit doctors from conscientiously objecting to non-medically necessary procedures such as mutilating people’s genitals and hopping them up on hormones, forcing them into the Hobson’s Choice of violating their oath to do no harm or cease practicing medicine. The United States is not one such country… at present.
“[A] district court judge struck down the Obama administration’s since defunct mandate forcing doctors to perform transgender surgery regardless of their religious convictions or conscientious objections. The mandate, handed down by Obama’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), ironically did not apply to Medicare and Medicaid or to military doctors because the government’s own research showed that transgender hormones and surgeries can be harmful.
“Under Trump, the HHS finalized rules protecting religious freedom, but the Obama mandate remained on the books.”
TTFN.
