Another “quick takes” on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.
The focus this time: Such a lovely sounding world!
First, a little bit of mood music:
Carrying on…
You know how the “science is settled” proving the spiffiness of Gay Marriage?
“[T]hat has not stopped the gay advocates, the academy, and the mainstream media from insisting that the science is settled. They maintain there is no difference in outcomes between children raised in gay households and those raised in homes with their own moms and dads.
“In fact, the science actually shows that anything less than the gold standard for children—being raised by their married biological mother and father—is detrimental to the child. But that doesn’t stop the advocates from claiming that science is on their side.
“…
” But while in any conversation about gay parenting, you will hear that science shows us there is no difference—the science is settled—as a matter of fact, none of the studies that purport to show that there is no difference between the two groups of children meets the basic requirements for robust social science research.
“The ‘scientific’ findings that advocates and the pro-gay media cite tend to come from convenience samples. That is, these are ‘studies’ on subjects that have not been gathered randomly.
“Instead, they’re done on decidedly unrepresentative samples that have been collected from places like bulletin boards at gay parenting support groups, where everyone has an interest in proving that gay parenting is a success.
“…
” Even worse, these ‘no differences’ studies tend to interview the parents rather than the kids. It is inevitable that gay parents are going to say their kids are doing just fine—particularly if they know that it is their own gay parenting that is being measured.”
The science must fit the narrative…
“Wokeness” is not a new idea. It is an old idea; a Gnostic idea.
“When I first saw the word ‘woke’ in connection to a leftist cause, the Black Lives Matter movement, I had that panicky sensation of the madman in the wilderness who’s been screaming about an oncoming danger nobody wants to hear about, but finally has the first sign to prove what he’s been saying. ‘There it is! That’s the Gnosticism I’ve been talking about!
“…
“The Gnostic mind sees the entire material world as imprisoned by a dark overlord and his subordinate archons. Famous depth psychologist and self-proclaimed Gnostic Carl Jung would call these characters archetypes, explaining archetypical realities universal to the human condition. They represent the ruling cultural symbols, institutions, and systems that shackle our minds. These include everything from the economic system to traditional family systems.
“One’s birth in flesh localizes his mind within these systems and calcifies a person’s perspective, giving him a false ego or false consciousness. Yet within each person is a latent, not-flesh-bound self waiting to emerge. Salvation occurs as the Gnostic—an elite few—awakens (ahem!) to the prison house he is in and breaks free (violently if need be—ahem!) from his prison.
“So, being ‘woke’ is an essential component of Gnostic salvation. Once one is woke to the systemic oppression of this world order, he sees things differently and no longer conforms slavishly to the acceptable manners and behaviors of ‘the system.’ He becomes antinomian, rejecting all law, because the laws only support the oppressive system.
“On these terms, violence against the system is not aggressive, but a defense of his emerging self. Who would fault an innocent man for violently breaking free from his prison? That violence also extends to language, because language animates the constructs making up the system. The archons use language to craft the structures by which the un-woke mindlessly view reality. Not only language, but all the communicative icons constructing the psychic architecture of culture are slated for iconoclasm (ahem!).”
In this brave new world of theirs, there will be tolerance, whether you like it or not.
“If you ever wondered what life would look like under a Rainbow Regime, then just consider the following.
“Two years ago, in late August 2015, I witnessed a ‘straw in the wind.’ I received an email that included the flyer below. It announced that all students at Burwood Girls High School in the inner-west of Sydney were required to attend a special film, Gayby Baby.
“Attendance was compulsory and students were informed that they would need to be specially dressed for the occasion, eat unusual food, and assemble under a rainbow flag. The flyer was sent to all parents at the school.
“Now that you’ve seen it for yourself, note the following:
- All classes were going to be cancelled for two periods (including year twelves who were preparing for the HSC).
- All students were instructed to watch a certain movie with a clear LGBTIQ agenda.
- Every student was told to ditch their school uniform for the day and come clothed in one particular colour – purple – which included shoes, hats, scarves, tops, jumpers, pants, socks, jewellery, skirts.
- They were also told that they would then eat the same coloured food – I hope no one was gluten .intolerant.
- And to top it off, they were to all have a fashion parade under the rainbow flag.
“Now aside from the fact that the picture itself is a little creepy – who puts half-naked children on the front of their advertising material – what I came to realise is that this was a proverbial ‘straw in the wind.’ This is where the nation I grew up in and loved would end up if the homosexual political juggernaut continued to crash its way through our culture.
“However, the thing that really stood out to everyone who received it was not necessarily what the flyer said, but what it didn’t say. i.e. there was going to be no ‘opt out.’ The students in the whole school were simply told what they would do. Shades of Orwell’s 1984? It couldn’t have been more comprehensive. Everything from watching a certain film, wearing certain clothing, eating certain food, participating in a parade, and finally pledging allegiance to a rainbow flag. Short of getting them to all engage in ‘orgy porgy,’ a Brave New World had finally arrived.”
