What Do Tweens, Drugs, Rape, and Incoherent Rants Have to Do with Each Other? A Middle School Teacher

A public middle school in Madison, Wisconsin has a spoken word class. This sounds fine and dandy until you realize that the “spoken word” the middle school students are learning is a series of incoherent rants about rape, drugs, oppression, and rape:

Some highlights of this so-called “slam poetry”:

“Why is it when I have sex I’m a slut, but when he does it, he’s a god?”

“He was addictive like heroin or cocaine … The type where each time he kissed me, I injected them into my bloodstream”

“if I didn’t choose women I would be banished to the lower income, where the gays and lesbians scrounge for food”

“He bends her over, turning her over, turning her over to him. He is her god now.”

It’s not so much the content—real literature is full of far worse material—as it is the sheer incoherent “slam” poetry which has become endemic in public schools amongst the pseudo intellectual academic Left.

At least a dirty lymric has some poetic value!

     A NSFW Case in point:
