Another “quick takes” on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.
The focus this time: The timeline where a transgender YHWH smites Gay men for not being queer enough.
First, a little mood music:
Carrying on…
Maybe the Left will rethink the entire “separation of church and state” stance they hold once God comes out as Queer…
“Swarthmore College offers a course on ‘Queering God,’ most recently taught during the spring 2019 semester, that provides a feminist and queer perspective of the Bible, while also exploring God’s gender identity.
“The course, taught by Professor Gwynn Kessler, questions whether God is a masculine or feminine figure through the examination of feminist and queer writings. Its course description says the class ‘stretch[es] the limits of gendering-and sexing-the divine.’ Key themes of the class, also outlined in the course description, include gender, embodiment, masculinity, liberation, sexuality, and feminist and queer theory.
“’Part of the student community definitely wants to have more representation and to have LGBTQ issues addressed in courses and elsewhere on campus,’ a Swarthmore student, who asked to remain anonymous, told Campus Reform. ‘This means spreading awareness and getting people to action through taking courses like this.’
“Natalie, another Swarthmore student who asked for her last name not to be published, noted that the school demonstrates ‘normalized progressivism, unfazed by even the most controversial topics.’”
It turns out that straight people aren’t actually attracted to the opposite sex, but to a social gender construct different than their own, or something…
“Get educated, straight people: It turns out that heterosexuality isn’t just a matter of being attracted to the opposite sex.
“The Gender Equity Resource Center at the University of California, Berkeley, offers students a list of LGBTQ-related terminology, and several of them re-define what it means to be straight.
“The guide defines ‘straight’ as a ‘person who is attracted to a gender other than their own.’ But the definition contains an important caveat: The term is ‘commonly thought of as “attraction to the opposite gender,” but since there are not only two genders…this definition is inaccurate.’
“As if to drive the point home, the guide also defines ‘heterosexuality’ as ‘sexual, emotional, and/or romantic attraction to a gender other than your own.’ That description repeats the caveat from the first definition.
“It is unclear how exactly the guide is using the term ‘gender.’ Elsewhere it defines ‘gender’ as ‘a socially constructed system of classification that ascribes qualities of masculinity and femininity to people,’ implying that gender itself does not actually exist apart from social conventions.
“The guide does define ‘gender identity’ as ‘an individual’s internal sense of their own gender,’ but since that definition simply refers to the term ‘gender,’ both terms are ultimately unclear.”
You know you are woke when Gay men are just… not Queer enough.
“A public university is hosting programming for LGBTQIA+ History Month in an effort to educate students about different spectrums of sexuality, with the school offering program on half a dozen queer identities. Conspicuously absent among them: Gay men.
“The University of Alabama marks October as LGBTQIA+ History Month and as part of its monthlong programming is hosting talks for students about various types of LGBT ‘identities and their histories,’ according to the school’s website. The programming covers well-known LGBT variants such as lesbianism and bisexuality, as well as more avant-garde sexualities and identities including asexuality, aromanticism, pansexuality, transgenderism and gender non-conformism.
“Yet the university’s scheduled list of LGBT talks does not include a presentation on gay men, a demographic that forms a significant percentage of the LGBT community.”
