Amazon Rights

Amazon how has rights according to a court. Oh, this doesn’t have to do with the company or to the female warriors of Greek mythology, but with the South American river filled with parasites, disease, piranhas, and disease.

The Supreme Court of Columbia has decided that running water through a geological feature is the same as a human being when it comes to human rights. This is yet another example of lunatics and twig-worshiping Gaia lovers who push “nature rights“. The Amazon joins the Ganges, Yamuna, and Whanganui rivers in gaining “rights”.

Some of these lunatics compare a river with human slaves:

“Transforming nature from being treated as property under the law, to be considered as rights-bearing — and thus in possession of legally enforceable rights — is the focus of the growing Rights of Nature movement.

“Throughout history, women, indigenous peoples, and slaves have been treated as property under the law, without legal rights. Legal systems around the world today treat nature as property, and thus right-less. Under these systems, environmental laws regulate human use of nature, resulting in the decline of species and ecosystems worldwide, and the acceleration of climate change.”

This is tantamount to declaring that merely rowing down a river is tantamount to rape.

California To Demand People Sacrifice and Suffer For The God Of Global Warming

Some people like solar panels on their homes because it’s free electricity, and are promised that any excess energy will be used as a credit against nighttime demands for electricity. Indeed, there is an allure of being disconnected from any grid and being energy self-sufficient. But for new housing tracts, this means adding tens of thousands of dollars upfront for marginal gains later. But this sacrifice to appease the God of Global Warming is deemed sufficient enough to not only offset “carbon” in the atmosphere, but also to assuage the guilt of the rich as the poor suffer in hell-holes in neo-Feudal California.

“For seven years, a handful of homebuilders offered solar as an optional item to buyers willing to pay extra to go green.

“Now, California is on the verge of making solar standard on virtually every new home built in the Golden State.”

     Unsurprisingly, this easily passed.

What makes this worse is that it requires all homes to utilize electricity over the more, ironically enough, economically friendly use of natural gas for such usage as heating, cooking, &c.

“In addition to widespread adoption of solar power, the new provisions include a push to increase battery storage and increase reliance on electricity over natural gas. Among the highlights:

  • “The new solar mandate would apply to all houses, condos and apartment buildings up to three stories tall that obtain building permits after Jan. 1, 2020.
  • “Exceptions or alternatives will be allowed when homes are shaded by trees or buildings or when the home’s roofs are too small to accommodate solar panels.
  • “Solar arrays can be smaller because homes won’t have to achieve true net-zero status.
  • “Builders installing batteries like the Tesla Powerwall would get ‘compliance credits,’ allowing them to further reduce the size of the solar system.
  • “Provisions will encourage more electric use or even all-electric homes to reduce natural gas consumption. State officials say improved technology is making electric water heaters increasingly cost-effective.”

     But are these exceptions enough?

Women Living Longer Than Men Is Now Considered Misogyny

It is quite accurately pointed out that men live shorter lives, on average, then women.

However, even this is considered a form of misogyny and sexist oppression!

Quick Takes – Textbook Social Justice: Sexual Orientation As History; Tokenistic Minorities; Misogynistic Economics

Another “quick takes” on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.

The focus this time: A textbook case of madness…

First, a little bit of mood music:

     Carrying on…

People are included in lessons on history usually because they did something historical. Whether they were Gay or Straight does not detract from their impact. But now it seems that simply being Queer is enough to elevate one to historical significance.

“As a state, California has adopted a fresh take on history: A person’s sexual identity is what matters more than what that person does.

“The state’s board of education has approved ten textbooks that it has deemed ‘inclusive enough,’ and rejected two others that were not, including Houghton Mifflin Harcourt*, one of the top textbooks producers in the United States.

“…

“[C] hildren at this age don’t need to know sexual preference in order to understand what a person has contributed to society. That Emily Dickinson was a lesbian or that Walt Whitman was gay in no way changes the fact that ‘A Noiseless, Patient Spider’ is one of the best poems I read in high school or that every Emily Dickinson poem can be read to the tune of ‘Yellow Rose Of Texas.'”

The Venezuelan Horror Continues to Horrify

Venezuela has entered the phase where it is openly arresting foreign oil executives for the crime of being convenient scapegoats for the horror that Maduro, and Chavez before him, have created. This as one of the most oil richest nations on the planet is forced to import barrels of oil at a net loss of $80 to $90 a barrel.

But like any advanced socialist hellhole, the nomenklatura live a life of luxury… in Miami! Case in point, former Chavez bodyguard/thug Alejandro Andrade:

“One of these wealthy socialists is Alejandro Andrade, a former bodyguard for Hugo Chávez who rose to become Venezuela’s national treasurer. The 53-year-old Andrade now lives on a fabulous estate in Wellington, Florida, an exclusive community just west of West Palm Beach, which Money Magazine once ranked as one of America’s 100 best places to live.

“In recent articles about Andrade’s lavish lifestyle, the Palm Beach Post and Miami Herald reported that Andrade has for at least six years occupied a palatial 9,000-square-foot house with five bedrooms, marble floors, and a swimming pool. The house was purchased for $4.75 million through a shell company, the Palm Beach Post reported, and sits on a six-acre estate in a gated community in the heart of “horse country” – a perfect location for Andrade who keeps some 60 horses in a large barn. Their names include Bon Jovi and Armani Z. His son Emanuel Andrade, an Olympic equestrian, hangs out with the rich and famous, including American model Kendall Jenner and Kris Jenner, the matriarch of the Kardashian clan, the Palm Beach Post reported.”

Who here in America would defend this regime? The usual suspects, of course!

” In a statement obtained by The Claremont Independent, Scripps College’s administration defended inviting two Venezuelan diplomats last week to speak about their totalitarian government’s ‘grassroots initiatives.’

“This semester will be the second in a row that Scripps has invited Venezuelan officials to whitewash the country’s economic and human rights woes, with pro-Venezuelan regime speakers and a Venezuelan consul-general speaking last semester as well.

“Despite the Independent pointing out in an editorial that Scripps refused to allow this publication to invite conservative speaker Andrew Klavan, Scripps has maintained that it invites speakers in an effort to ‘create an opportunity for dialogue.'”

Why not create a forum for dialog for those few remaining farms that can still produce food… at least enough to feed their own starving workers, or others suffering from economic collapse and hyperinflation? Or perhaps let some of the plethora of refugees fleeing Venezuela on a level that puts more famous refugee crises to shame? Or perhaps the family of the victims of murder, who were so readily disarmed by Venezuela’s anti-right-to-bear-arms regime?

California Poised To Force Direct Foreign Domination on Americans

California is infamous for its plethora of “professional” boards made up of unelected appointees who have direct power over the lives of Californians, who are often left with little to no avenue to appeal. This is a legacy of the Progressive movement from a century ago whose Progressive model of state government included concentrating power in few hands, with power increasingly devolved into the hands of “experts” who would be empowered to impose their alleged wiseness upon the ignorant masses.

Until now, these “experts” who can arbitrarily and capriciously rule over you, had to be a fellow citizen. Now, if SB 174 of the current session, which has already passed the state Senate, is passed by the Assembly and signed by the Governor, foreign nations who are illegally present in this country could be placed on these all powerful boards to rule over American citizens like a military governor ruling over conquered territory.

The bill would, in part, add subsection to §1020 of the California Government Code:

“(b) A person, regardless of citizenship or immigration status, is eligible to hold an appointed civil office if the person is 18 years of age and a resident of the state.

“(c) A person appointed to civil office, regardless of citizenship or immigration status, may receive any form of compensation that the person is not otherwise prohibited from receiving pursuant to federal law, including, but not limited to, any stipend, grant, or reimbursement of personal expenses that is associated with carrying out the duties of that office.”

This isn’t surprising considering that foreign nationals who are present illegally can already serve in state courts as lawyers, and serious proposals have been made to allow these alien national to serve on juries and even vote.

The bill would also declare children of transient aliens and of alien public ministers and consuls to be citizens of California.

Dear Comrade Bernie, “The Hunger Games” Is Not A How To Guide

Twelve poverty stricken districts ruled over by a rich and degenerate capital. This is the setting for the “Hunger Games” trilogy; it is also the economic plan that Sen. Bernie Sanders (I – VT) has come up with.

“[Sen. Bernie] Sanders has an outline that “calls for the government to fund hundreds of projects in categories such as infrastructure, education and the environment.” Americans who want to do the hard work of building roads and bridges, educating children, and cleaning up embankments on major highways will either receive a job with one of these projects — full healthcare benefits and a $15-per-hour wage, included — or receive job training.

“Weirdly, the plan also includes dividing the country into 12 separate ‘districts’ within the United States, each with a specialized area of industry, that would develop service projects and major infrastructure job plans, which they would then forward to the Department of Labor for approval.”

To be fair, the idea for twelve economic districts may have come from a real place

The Twelve Economic Regions of Russia

“It’s more possible that Sanders’ team got the idea from early economic plans for the USSR, which divided Russia and surrounding nations into 11 separate “economic districts.” China has undertaken a similar effort.

“The draft plan did not include information on how quickly Sanders’s hypothetical administration would begin developing a program where the children from each of the 12 districts murder each other for sport in a massive, yearly contest. It also does not, apparently, include information on how Sanders and his team plan to combat the distortionary effect a “guaranteed jobs” program would have on the American economy, but Bernie Sanders has never been one for details.”

Of course, these “jobs” would not just be like government jobs are now, where it is difficult to fire people, but much worse.

“Sanders’s jobs guarantee would fund hundreds of projects throughout the United States aimed at addressing priorities such as infrastructure, care giving, the environment, education and other goals. Under the job guarantee, every American would be entitled to a job under one of these projects or receive job training to be able to do so, according to an early draft of the proposal.”

If people are entitled to a job with benefits, than how can you deny them a job, even if they won’t work and just laze around all day? Simply, you can’t.

How To Solve Britain’s Bladed Weapon Epidemic

     Shot:

“Shocking figures reveal there’s a machete attack every 90 minutes in Britain.

“It’s emerged that in the last 2 months of 2017, police dealt with 928 crimes involving a machete – that’s an average of 15 a day, or 1 every 90 minutes.

“London was the worst affected – 425 of the attacks happened in the capital, 99 in Greater Manchester, 77 in the West Midlands and 29 in both Merseyside and West Yorkshire.

“It marks a steep increase from just 3 years ago when there were 100 machete attacks a month.”

     Chaser:

“Police said a woman shot a man who allegedly threatened her with a hatchet outside of a store on Tucson’s south side Friday night.

“The Tucson Police Department said officers responded to the area of south 6th Avenue and east Pennsylvania Drive around 8:40 p.m. for a report of a shooting. Police arrived at the scene and located a man on the ground with an obvious gunshot wound, TPD said.”

Because a firearm isn’t currently legally available, such as for law-abiding subjects of the U.K.…
