Quick Takes – Gender Pronouns: Policy; Lawsuits; Neutered.

Another “quick takes” on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.

The focus this time: Biological reality it H8 speech!!1!

First, a little castrato mood music:

     Carrying on…

The University of Minnesota seems to realize that you can’t go too fast in imposing your wokeness on others…

“Students and faculty senators at the University of Minnesota will vote in May on a gender pronoun policy.

“A previous version of the policy proposal would have punished the incorrect use of gender pronouns with anything up to and including expulsion or termination of employment, as Campus Reform previously reported. However, UMN scrapped the punishment aspect from this policy in February.

“…

“The University teaches students that ‘mispronouncing someone[‘s pronoun] is a microaggression’ and that students should not “refer to [their] pronouns as ‘gender pronouns.’ ‘Pronouns are not gendered and do not directly correlate with a specific gender,’ it states.”

Abortion as Genocide

And by genocide, the targeted exception from the right to live based on race, specifically Black babies, via abortion.

Sound like some fringe KKK plank? Nope, it was an actual legislative amendment submitted to Ohio’s “Heartbeat Bill”… by not-so-White Democratic lawmaker.

“Abortion advocates tried unsuccessfully to weaken Ohio’s heartbeat bill with a series of amendments this week, including one that would have allowed only African American unborn babies to be aborted.

“…

“But if Democratic state Rep. Janine Boyd had her way, the bill also would have given an exemption to African American women to abort their unborn babies for any reason up to the state’s current abortion limit, 20 weeks.

“On Tuesday during a state House Health Committee meeting, she proposed Amendment 0291 to add the exemption.”

This is not hyperbole. The amendment literally exempts babies of Black women from the protection afforded by the bill.

North Korea on the Caribbean

With the remaining industrial capacity dying, the people fighting with birds for scraps of food, and general misery and starvation, there isn’t much left to fight over in Venezuela except a hunk of land with surplus population on it. Perhaps Venezuelan dictator Maduro’s puppetmasters will just turn the country into “North Korea on the Caribbean”.

Of course, there is wider ranging implications: Will Russia, China, Cuba, and their accomplices gain a permanent foothold, or can their grubby hands be pushed back by America and much of the West?

Firing Line Friday: Enoch Powell and the British Crisis

In the hopes of encouraging a more civil, and illuminating, discourse, here is another episode of William F. Buckley, Jr.’s “Firing Line”.

With elections in the U.K., including recent council elections and upcoming (and unexpected) elections for the European Parliament, ‘twould be interesting to watch one of the original opponents of economic integration with the E.U., Enoch Powell. Though most famous for the “Rivers of Blood” speech, Powell opposed entering the European Economic Community (EEC)—a precurser to the E.U.—in 1973 and opposed it again in the 1975 referendum. This interview was in 1974, between those votes, right before the first of two general elections that occurred in 1974, whereby Powell refused to stand with Prime Minister Heath and his pro-EEC policies, and before the second general election that year when he stood for, and won, a seat in Northern Ireland as a Ulster Unionist. It is an interesting contrast, in this interview, with many of those today who might share, at least in part, his views on this and in other things.

Quick Takes – Social Justice: Food and Culture; Mandatory Activism; Ecofeminism

Another “quick takes” on items where there is too little to say to make a complete article, but is still important enough to comment on.

The focus this time: Get a woke degree; go broke.

     First, a little mood music:

     Carrying on…

Yet again “Food Justice” rears its oppressive head…

“Oregon State University recently introduced an undergraduate certificate and graduate minor in ‘Food in Culture and Social Justice.’

“The program, which is offered to undergraduates and graduates, seeks to ‘develop and apply critical thinking and critical writing competencies about food, culture and social justice,’ according to the program’s learning outcomes. Students will also “critically evaluate the role of food in the construction of identity (gender, ethnicity, religious, etc.).

“Classes required for students to obtain a certificate in the program include ‘Food Justice,’ ‘Food and Ethnic Identity: Decolonizing Food and Our Body,’ ‘Fat Studies,’ and more.

“Oregon State’s ‘Fat Studies’ course ‘examines body weight, shape, and size as an area of human difference subject to privilege and discrimination that intersects with other systems of oppression based on gender, race, class, age, sexual orientation, and ability. Employs a multi-disciplinary approach spanning the behavioral sciences and humanities,’ according to the description. ‘Frames weight-based oppression as a social justice issue, exploring forms of activism used to counter weightism perpetuated throughout various societal institutions.’

“Another class, ‘Food Justice,’ examines food systems from a social justice and cultural perspective.”

Academia’s Child Sexuality Field Trips

It is at this point no surprise that many in academia and education have shifted their interest towards the combinatorial topic of children and sex, such as encouraging public masturbation, encouraging sexual activity at younger and younger ages, encouraging adults to engage in child molestation, and otherwise “liberate” the children.

Now, a sexuality textbook is encouraging “field trips” to “observe” childhood sexuality as low as pre-school aged… if not younger.

“A college textbook that explores human sexuality suggests that instructors take their students on ‘field trips’ to local preschools and elementary schools to observe possible ‘sexual interactions’ between students there.

“The textbook is part of a course titled ‘Psychology and Sexual Behavior’ offered at the University of North Texas. That course made headlines last week when the news website Big League Politics reported on it, specifically what appeared to be a presentation in the course exploring ‘sexual pleasure and response in infants.'”

Assault With A Deadly Whisk?

The U.K. has gone paranoid about anything that could be used as a weapon, from knives and screwdrivers, to, now… whisks.

We are coming increasingly closer to turning Monty Python in to popularly accepted wisdom.

Why Are Child Drag Shows Legal?

In this woke new world, with such people in it, the hot new way of attacking sane society is with pre-teen drag queens. Little boys, who dress up like painted harlots and diseased skanks, such as “Queen Lactacia” and “Desmond is Amazing“, may seem to be simple freak exceptions to a sane rationality about this, but this is a big enough problem that legislation has been introduced in Ohio to ban “drag shows” boys dressed up like aged skank hoes.

“A 9-year-old’s performance in drag at an Ohio bar has led state lawmakers to introduce legislation to ban such activity as ‘endangering children.’

“House Bill 180, introduced earlier this month by state Rep. Tim Schaffer, comes after online outrage over a video of Jacob Measley of suburban Toledo accepting money from onlookers while performing at a drag charity event held at a Fairfield County bar last December.”

How is this not already banned under the law? Just because there is no nudity doesn’t mean that this isn’t of a prurient or pornographic nature. Remember: pornography ≠ nudity. Just because someone is covered doesn’t mean that it isn’t sexual in nature, in the same way that someone taking a picture of “babies first bath time” isn’t a baby rapist.

Of course, only videos and photos that have been released to the public don’t show nudity…
