Obama Scandals

Jonathan Gruber Admitted Obama Was In the Room When Cadillac Tax Lie Was Created
On June 13, 2012, Obamacare Jonathan Gruber was interviewed by Frontline. He told them that the Cadillac tax issue was addressed in 2009. Obama knew it was going to be a problem, and they all agreed to lie about it.

Jonathan Gruber’s payday
Taxpayers paid millions for the deceptions of the Obamacare architect

Lefties Deceive As They Try to Distract from Gruber’s Praise of . . . Deceit

Grubergate shines spotlight on Obamacare profiteers
Remember when Nancy Pelosi declared that Obamacare was a jobs bill? “It’s about jobs,” Pelosi said in 2011, during a news conference to mark the first anniversary of passage of the Affordable Care Act. “Does it create jobs? Health insurance reform creates 4 million jobs.”

Gun Rights

Four CA Gun Dealers Sue State AG Over Handgun Image Ban
It’s bad enough that, thanks to a micro-stamping requirement on new models, the state of California maintains an ever-dwindling list of handguns that Golden Staters may purchase legally. And that any hacked off or hoplophobic family member can now report a gun owner as a potential threat under the state’s new gun violence restraining order law and have their shootin’ irons confiscated. But did you know that gun stores are prohibited from advertising that they sell…handguns? They can’t even display an image of a handgun in any way that’s visible to the public. Which is how Tracy Rifle and Pistol ran afoul of the state’s byzantine firearms regulations . . .

9th Circuit Court Denies Peruta Appeal; California Gun Rights Restored
You may remember that the 9th Circuit Court struck down the “good cause” provision for concealed carry in the County of San Diego. The ruling went to appeal, thanks to The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence and Presidential heartthrob Attorney General Kamala D. Harris. The two parties attempted to weigh-in on the side of – you guessed it – reversing the ruling, so that statists like San Diego Sheriff William Gore could continue to deny Americans their natural, civil and Constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms. [Click here for Aaron J. Bailey most excellent analysis of the appeal.] The Court has ruled that Brady’s and Harris’ interest in Peruta came too late in the game.

Gun Grab U.N. Arms Treaty To Take Effect Dec. 24
Gun Control: To some, concern over a U.N. Arms Trade Treaty set to take effect Dec. 24 is much ado about nothing. But a president unconstrained by Congress or the Constitution may try to impose severe limits on gun rights.

Steve Sailer: Environmentalist John Muir: Too stale, pale, and male for Vibrant-Americans
Back in the 1970s, my cousin backpacked the 215 mile John Muir Trail along the crest of the Sierra Nevadas from Yosemite to Mt. Whitney. It took him at least a month in the wilderness, with one resupply stop near Mammoth Lakes to pick up a cache of food.

Obamacare Architect: Lack of Transparency Was Key Because ‘Stupidity Of The American Voter’ Would Have Killed Obamacare
Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber said that lack of transparency was a major part of getting Obamacare passed because “the stupidity of the American voter” would have killed the law if more people knew what was in it.

Incompetence Is Their Only Defense: Understanding the Latest Obamacare SCOTUS Case
It’s safe to say that the Supreme Court shocked much of official Washington on Friday when it agreed to hear King v. Burwell. In King, the plaintiffs challenged the IRS’s decision to provide tax-credit subsidies to individuals who purchased health insurance on federal, not state, exchanges. The problem? The Affordable Care Act plainly and unequivocally states that subsidies are available only when the consumer purchases insurance on exchanges “established by the State.” Because millions of Americans are purchasing subsidized insurance through federal exchanges, removing those subsidies could very well break the economics of the entire scheme, creating a “death spiral” in insurance costs and necessitating significant reform.

Shocking Discovery: Pajama Boy Works at The Washington Post Defending Obamacare!!
Bloggers made a shocking discovery this morning when they read a ridiculous article in the Washington Post attempting to put “context” around the comments made by Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber who said the law had to be written deceptively because the voters are too stupid to pass it honestly.

The Death Panels Are Coming
With Obamacare open enrollment about to begin anew, rumors of trouble in Healthcare Paradise run rampant. Enrollment has dropped to 30% below Congressional Budget Office estimates; fully 1 million of the 8.1 million people who originally signed up for Obamacare dropped out.

In a Third Video, Obamacare Architect Brags About ‘Exploiting’ the American Voter
A third controversial video of Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber has surfaced. In this video, taken at a colloquium in 2012 at the University of Rhode Island, Gruber admits that he and fellow Obamacare proponents “exploited” American voters when they passed the controversial law.

Smarter than Thou
The “stupidity of the American voter” is an article of faith for the Left.

Obamacare Deception “Exactly What Conservatives Have Been Saying For Years,” “True Voice Of Liberal Arrogance”
Syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer ripped Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber and other supporters of healthcare reform for their “liberal arrogance” and “deception” when it came to passing the legislation on Tuesday’s broadcast of FOX News’ O’Reilly Factor. Krauthammer said supporters believed Americans are stupid and deception was the only way to “lead the masses to the promised land.”

Howard Dean: Obamacare Created by ‘Elitists Who Don’t Fundamentally Understand the American People’
It’s ‘the core problem with the damn law’

Another Video Shows Gruber Bragging about ‘Exploitation’ of American Voter’s Stupidity
Although Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber now says his “off the cuff” comments last year about the American people’s stupidity were “inappropriate,” the MIT professor made similar comments in at least two other speeches on the health-care law delivered over the last few years.

Obamacare’s Foundation of Lies
There is only one kind of lie, it’s apolitical, and it cripples the best of intentions.

Republicans Took Back Congress, Leading To Angst In Science Blogging
In modern times, academia in America is far out of the political mainstream, The humanities were for decades but science had held strong until a generation ago; the theories for why that happened are many but most are just rationalizations and outside the scope of this piece. But it has to be mentioned that the people who insist there is not enough representation for women or minorities due to various ills claim it is a ‘choice’ when it comes to a shocking lack of political diversity (Republicans apparently “don’t want” 6-figure jobs that have tenure for life) – apparently the constant ridicule, vitriol and posters demonizing Republicans don’t affect a political minority the same way women in bikinis or endorsements of the KKK might affect other groups.

Drug Unlocks Malleable, Fast-Learning, Child-LIke State In Adult Brain
Professor Carla Shatz of Stanford University and her colleagues have discovered a way to revert an adult brain to the “plastic”, child-like state that is more able to form new connections quickly. The technical term “plastic” implies the ability to adapt or shape itself to new conditions. The striking results were revealed through experiments on a protein expressed in brain cells known as PirB (this is the name of the protein in the animal model, in humans it is called “LilrB2?), which seems to stabilize neural connections.

Scientists Discover Genes That Helped Turn Fearsome Wildcats Into House Cats
Cats are different than other domesticated animals. Unlike other species tamed for either food or labor, cats specialized in becoming mooches. Sure they catch mice, but it’s not like they do it for our sake. A new study identifies some of the genes that may be responsible for the differences between house cats and their wild ancestors.

Outgoing Dem governor to pardon his own son
Lame duck season is often seen as a boring, slow time for punditry, but there are lots of fun stories which crop up if you know where to look. For one thing, this is the season when Governors frequently take on the prickly problem of whether or not to issue rafts of pardons and sentence commutations before they head out the door. One of the first such stories to emerge comes out of Arkansas, where Governor Mike Beebe is packing his bags, being term limited out of office. But before he goes, he may have one special gift… for his own son.

Ten bad assumptions about 2014.

It’s been just short of week since Rick Scott destroyed the political career of Charlie Crist and I still get a smile thinking about it.

Liberal Racism: Hispanics Are Next
Roughly ninety-five percent of racism in America today now either emanates from liberals or is generated by them. The Democratic Party relies on racism because, without the perception of serious ongoing racism in our culture, the identity politics on which the party depends would disintegrate. As presently constituted, they wouldn’t win another national or statewide election. This makes the Democratic Party by necessity a virtual racism-manufacturing machine.

America’s morality vacuum — if you’re the right victim class, if it feels good, do it
Since the day I started blogging, I’ve returned repeatedly to an issue I find fascinating: America’s retreat from a God-derived, externally driven moral system in favor of an alleged moral system that is, in fact, a peculiar amalgam of emotion (“if it feels good, do it”), arrogance (“I’m Ivy League educated, which enables me to understand the real moral issues here”), and Marxist-based (social or economically oppressed people always behave morally if their transgressions are against “the man”). I’m returning to this issue today because Jonah Goldberg has a new article — actually, an excerpt from his contribution to a new book — that also examines this phenomenon, although at a deeper level and with greater style than I could ever achieve.

California GOP Slate: Six Lessons from Election Day
For the third election in a row, a Republican candidate has failed to win statewide office in California. Rather than bemoan party losses, it’s important to recognize important lessons that can be gained this election cycle. With proper planning for the future, the party can realistically secure statewide seats again by the end of the decade. The following are six key lessons I’ve learned as an elections analyst this November, following what worked and what didn’t among our statewide GOP slate of candidates.

A Lesbian Theory of the P*nis
When did I first encounter the feminist claim that rape is not about sex? It was during the 1980s, I’m pretty sure, and I recall being both startled and amused by this well-known element of feminist theory. Startled, I say, because rape so obviously is about sex, and amused at the naivete of anyone who could believe otherwise.

Have I ever mentioned that, while feminists are usually both crazy and wrong, sometimes the crazy ones — the man-hating radical lesbians — are surprisingly right? Indeed, in 21st-century feminism, it seems the only feminists who are ever really right about anything are “extremists” like Janice Raymond, Sheila Jeffreys, Cathy Brennan and Julie Bindel.

The #WaronNerds: How Far-Left Feminists And The Media Created #Gamergate
On February 11, 2014, the Daily Mail reported on the case of 19-year-old Ryan Walker, a thin, bespectacled “wimp” by reputation who, upon being bullied one too many times by some neighborhood girls, attacked them furiously, stabbing one in the face and bashing the other’s head against the pavement. As one blogger put it, “Hell hath no fury like a bullied nerd who finally snaps… Those girls didn’t just suffer for their own sins, but the sins of every bully who came before them.”

Empty Integrity
The Oxford English Dictionary defines “integrity” in part as “soundness of moral principle; the character of uncorrupted virtue, esp. in relation to truth and fair dealing; uprightness, honesty, sincerity.” This is basically what most of us have in mind when asked to define “integrity.” A man of “great integrity” is a man who is honest, forthright, and incorruptible. In the secular faith that is Americanism, George “I Cannot Tell a Lie” Washington is about as good an exemplar of the idea as one can conjure.

Deviancy is the New Decency & It Isn’t Just Kardashian’s Ass
The last thing I ever wanted to do in my professional career is talk about Kim Kardashian. Actually, let me correct that … the very last thing I ever wanted to do in my life is talk about Kim Kardashian’s bare naked ass. Yet here I am. This week the world was exposed to the oiled up rear end of a Reality TV star whose celebrity roots can be traced back to a sex tape in which Kim Kardashian, owner of the aforementioned greased gluteus, was literally pissed upon. And though I have resisted the urge to engage in this subject, in the end I felt compelled that I must.

After my post about the Social Justice Warrior’s cannibal feeding frenzy, http://monsterhunternation.com/2014/11/10/sjw-cannibal-feeding-frenzy/ I’ve had a few people ask me why I bother writing about these people. That’s a good question. The short answer is that I can’t tolerate bullies. The long answer is complicated.

Fundamental Concepts: Vive la difference!
Here’s one that Hollywood loves. You see it in entertainment, media, journalism and academia. It’s beloved by the LGBPTTQQIIAA+ community (That’s not a joke, that’s what they’re up to now-”Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Pansexual, Transgender, Transsexual, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Intergender, Asexual, and Ally.” The + is for those people whose sexuality hasn’t been discovered yet, or for people who haven’t lobbied hard enough to get their particular kink included in the victimology role call. The + is most definitely NOT for the “cisnormative” heterosexual people who make up 95% of the population). “Feminists” love to dress it up in little duck outfits and trot it out at the drop of a hat. Cultural Marxists get absolutely giddy at the though, it does such a good job of tearing down traditional family structure. I’m sure you’ve heard or read it yourself: There is no difference between men and women. It’s a cultural artifact
